A Message from the Principal
I hope our Brave families are well as we enter the month of May! We are wrapping up week 3 of remote learning and FWPS is looking for your feedback about how it is going. Our Superintendent, Dr. Tammy Campbell, sent out a survey this past week via email to scholars and parents. Please look for this email and take a few minutes to give us your feedback so we can continue to improve upon our new system. The survey closes on May 12.
I want to highlight that our teachers are now tracking student engagement with remote learning over the course of each week. This engagement and participation is not graded, but does help us understand who we are reaching. As I spend time each day virtually visiting Zoom classes, I am excited to see new faces continuing to log in for the first time. If your student is having trouble navigating the teacher websites on Canvas or needs help with Zoom, please reach out to your scholar's teacher. We are here to help!
Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything we can do to support you or your child! I can be reached by email at bward@fwps.org.
In partnership,
Brianna Ward
Proud Principal

Resources for accessing Remote Learning tools
Is your student having technology issues?
- Issues with login ID or password? Contact your student's teacher
- Issues with a district-loaned laptop? The Educational Service Center (ESC) will offer tech support on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10 am - 2 pm. You can also call our Help Desk at 253-945-2111.
Remind: A new two-way communication tool
We are excited to share that Federal Way Public Schools is implementing a valuable two-way communication tool called Remind! Remind allows teachers who choose to use text messaging to communicate with parents and students.
With Remind:
- Parents can choose how to receive messages – text, email or app. For students, texting is available for ages 13 and over.
- It allows for safe and secure messaging that is available in multiple languages.
- It has a call feature, so teachers may use it to make calls.
As part of this rollout, official accounts will be created for all educators, parents, and students.
What’s important for you to know right now:
- Before you use Remind, it’s very important that you check ParentVUE to ensure your primary number and primary email address is correct.
- If you have an existing Remind account, and the phone number and email address matches with what’s in ParentVUE, then it will merge your existing account.
- If your child’s teacher(s) choose(s) to use Remind, you'll receive an email or text message from Remind. Follow the steps in the message. If you have other questions about Remind, how to log in, how to opt out, or other questions go to www.fwps.org/remind. More resources are available on www.fwps.org/parentportal.
