1. SY24 Enrollment Application is NOW OPEN!
Applications for the 2023-2024 school year are now open!
All students in Boston Public Schools and Chelsea - including English language learners, limited English-proficient students, and students with special educational needs - are encouraged to apply through the lottery.
Siblings of current Boston Prep students receive preference for admission to Boston Prep. Families can submit applications for any other children in grades 6-10 and submit proof of sibling status to the front office by February 28, 2023.
Families can apply here until February 28.
If families are currently on the waitlist, they still need to apply again for next year - their application will not roll over.
Lottery will be held on March 8th, 2023.
For your reference we will continue making offers to fill any spots for the current school year.
Application is still open for grade 6th ONLY for this current school year: 2022-2023: bostonprep.org/enroll
We encourage families to visit our website www.bostonprep.org to learn more about our school or if you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to our Family Operations Manager, Madelyn Ruizdeporras at: mruizdeporras@bostonprep.org
SPREAD THE WORD!
2. Covid-19 Rapid Tests
Your child will receive a COVID rapid test kit on Monday, November 21st from their advisor. Please have your child take the rapid test on Sunday, November 27th before returning to school. Please communicate positive test results only with our Nurses by emailing nurses@bostonprep.org (please do not report negative test results). For guidance on how to conduct these tests, please click here for directions that are written in multiple languages, and/or click here for a video showing how to conduct these tests.

3. Health Screenings
Beginning next week and through the winter, we will begin to conduct the following screenings for students at Boston Prep:
Body Mass Index (7th and 10th grades)
Vision (6th and 9th grades)
Hearing (6th and 9th grades)
Posture (6th – 9th grades)
SBIRT- Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment (7th and 9th grades)
The purpose of these screenings are to identify possible visual, hearing, weight, or posture issues as early as possible so that the need for intervention can be determined. SBIRT is a confidential screening tool to identify and discuss the risks of substance abuse. The school nurses will be conducting the screenings.
If further consultation is recommended, parents will be notified of the findings and will be asked to seek further evaluation from their primary care physician.
If you do not wish for your child to be screened either for a specific screening or for all of the screenings, please send a written note addressed to the school nurse with your request for your student to not participate. Your child will also have the option to opt out by signing a form in the nurse’s office if they do not wish to be screened.
If you have any questions concerning these screenings, please feel free to contact the nurses at nurses@bostonprep.org

Boston Prep will be closed from Wednesday, November 23-Sunday November 27 in observance of Thanksgiving. Classes will resume on Monday, Nov 28, 2022.
As we prepare to take time off from school during this week for the Thanksgiving break, we are grateful for everyone who has helped to restore a routine for students, including school attendance and a safe community. . Daily routines are essential for reducing stress and creating a sense of security, especially after the challenging times and chaotic transitions experienced over the last two years.
As long as your child is healthy, please encourage showing up to class when school is in session. Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn as well as connect to peers and their teachers.
We thank:
- Our students and their families who do their best to show up daily even when it isn’t easy.
- Our teachers who go above and beyond to make school a welcoming and safe place for all students to learn.
- Our faculty and staff who help us work together to ensure we create a learning environment that is engaging and both physically and emotionally safe.
- Our nurses, many healers and helpers - the support staff who provide the extra hands and attention our children need.
We want to express our gratitude to everyone who continues to help keep students safe, healthy, connected and learning! We appreciate each one of you. May these days off be restful and healing.
