WELCOME to the FAME Academy Spotlight newsletter! Each month we will feature RRHS FAME Academy teachers/students, their work, their accomplishments, and their goals! We will also share information about FAME events and other Academy announcements!

Academy Application

ALL students (incoming and current) who want to be a member of the FAME academy need to complete this application! Student applications will be reviewed and acceptance letters will go out before the end of this school year. New this year, after receiving your acceptance, students will have the opportunity to submit examples of work in order to be considered for course placement. Students new to the arts can start at level 1, but we know a lot of students come to us with a lot of school and outside experience. This is a way to be placed in classes with students more aligned to your level and have the opportunity to advanced!

Planning Ahead - New Courses

RRMS and RRHS FAME are excited to be growing! During the 2022-2023 school year, we have added courses to our FAME program! Course cards for both middle and high school students will begin soon! Added to our high school FAME program:


Orchestra 1: students do not need experience to sign up for level 1 orchestra. This class will be a combined middle and high school student course


Beginning Band: this course is for high school students NEW to band! Students do not need any experience to take this course!


Theatre, Cinema and Film Production: This course is for students who want to learn more about the production side of theater. This course does qualify as a fine arts course for graduation requirement purposes.


Ceramics: For students who have taken Art 3D and would like to explore the world of ceramics!


Portfolio Development: This is an honors level course for students wishing to create an 2D art portfolio.

National Art Honor Society Induction

We are pleased to induct our first members of the National Art Honor Society! The NAHS induction will take place after school on Monday, February 7th in Mr. Locascio's classroom.

Spring Musical Annoucement

Our Spring Musical is underway! Auditions were last week! More info to come on performance dates and ticket sales! You won't want to miss it!
Event Information

Royal Sound First Annual Car Show

The Royal Sound will be setting up a Car Show this February! Sunday February 20th to be exact at River Ridge in the parking lots! We are trying to raise funds to get a new trailer and invest in some new equipment.


To register your car it will be $20 or $25 the day of the event.

We will also be inviting food trucks and hosting areas for vendor booths for those that have crafts, food, items to sell as well. If you have want to host an area please email rrhsroyalsoundboosters2021@gmail.com

FAME Showcase - Save the Date

This year we will host a FAME Showcase that represents all areas of the FAME academy. Teachers will be working with and selecting pieces for this Showcase in the next few weeks and then tickets will go on sale. We are excited to bring all aspects of the arts together in one place for the night! More details to come, but save the date!

Encore performance of "Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play"

Join us as we present an encore performance of "Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play" on March 2nd at 7:30pm. If you missed it the first time around, or want to see this talent again, now is your chance! The students will be preparing the production to showcase at The Florida State Thespian Festival!
