Principal's Update:
Dear Charles Town Middle School Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. As we continue into the second half of the academic year, I wanted to take a moment to provide you with an update on the happenings at our school and share some important information.
Academic Progress: I am pleased to inform you that our students have been making great strides in their academic adventures. Our dedicated teaching staff has been working tirelessly to create engaging and challenging lessons, and it's evident that our students are responding positively. If you have any concerns about your child's academic progress, please don't hesitate to reach out to their teachers or our guidance counselors for support.
Upcoming Events: We have an exciting lineup of events and activities planned for the remainder of the school year. From academic competitions to cultural events, there will be plenty of opportunities for our students to showcase their talents and interests. Be sure to stay informed about these events by checking our school calendar regularly.
Parent-Teacher Conferences: To further support your child's education, we will hold Parent Teacher Conferences on February 6 from 6:00 -8:00. This is a valuable opportunity for you to discuss your child's progress, ask questions, and collaborate with teachers on strategies to enhance their learning experience. Look out for communication regarding conference scheduling or reach out to your student's teacher to schedule with them directly.
Safety and Well-Being: The safety and well-being of our students remain our top priority. We continue to implement measures to create a secure learning environment. If you have any safety concerns or suggestions, please reach out to our school administration at 304-725-7821.
Parental Involvement: Your involvement in your child's education is crucial, and we appreciate the support you provide. Whether it's attending school events, volunteering, or staying engaged with your child's academic journey, your partnership makes a positive impact. Come get involved with the CTMS PTO the last Thursday of each month at 6:00.
Thank you for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your children. We look forward to continuing our partnership throughout the remainder of the school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our school office.
Wishing you and your family a successful and rewarding second half of the school year!
Sincerely,
Nicole Reed
Principal, Charles Town Middle School
Snow Days 6-10
Snow days have added up quickly- We used 4 last week due to inclement weather. We have ONE traditional snow day left to use. Once we get to the 6th day, our snow days are not days off but, rather, considered non-traditional instructional days. For CTMS and other schools in JCS, days 6-10 will be asynchronous days of instruction for our students.
What does this mean for your student?
- Students should take home their school issued chromebook and charger daily in preparation for inclement weather
- Students will access work on Canvas for each class period that they are required to complete (work will not require a printer and will be able to be completed virutually.) At this time, students will not be required to log in at any specific time on a Teams meeting.
- A student may request help from a teacher by email - the teacher will then communicate with a teams meeting to assist your student.
- If your student does not have access to the internet at home, please reach out to the CTMS front office by phone 304-725-7821 to be added to a Hot Spot list.
8th Grade to Visit WHS
We are working with the Washington High School Counselors to reschedule the 8th grade trip to visit the school to see the performing arts. Once this date is finalized, we will communicate that information to you.
8th grade parents should look for scheduling information to come out around the same time as the WHS visit.
