LCHS Teacher to Receive Distinguished Educator Recognition from LCU
One of our very own teachers, Micaela Brown, will be recognized this week by Lubbock Christian University's School of Education as a distinguished area educator. Mrs. Brown is one of eight recipients to receive this recognition, all of whom were nominated by area superintendents. The criteria for this recognition includes student performance, knowledge of their subject area, use of instructional resources and technology, leadership, professional development, and community service. We are extremely proud of Mrs. Brown and her dedication to the students of Lubbock-Cooper.
CTE Spotlight - Real Estate
It has been a year full of exceptional learning in Mrs. Wright's first Real Estate Course at LCHS. Statistically the students have done very well. We have 25 students that have maintained enrollment in the class and we have completed five of the six courses. We are currently at a 72% passing rate which is on average for the courses statewide. Twelve of those 25 students have completed all five of the courses and will not require a retake. Ten of those students require a retake for at least one course but are already enrolled and plan to complete the course(s) before the end of the year.
REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONAL INCLUSION
For each course we invite real estate professionals to come in and support our students in a one-on-one or group setting. Not only does this allow students to network but it also allows them to connect difficult topics to real-world examples. If you are interested in providing support with our final course: Real Estate Financing please click HERE.
REAL ESTATE CAREER DAY
We are very excited to announce we will be hosting a Real Estate Career Day on May 18th. This will give our students the opportunity to network with local brokers, property managers, and agents; ask questions; and complete applications. If you are interested in offering opportunities to our students and want to join us for career day please click HERE.
WE WANT YOU TO JOIN US!
We will be offering this opportunity to our seniors again next year! This will be a double blocked course but that will reduce the time needed outside of the class to work on content and it will allow additional time for us to discuss business management and connect with real estate professionals.
