Community Update from Principal Griffin
Dear Erie High School families,
I hope that you and your family had a great week. It has been an exciting and uplifting week at Erie High School. I enjoyed the opportunity to visit multiple science classes, attend the Erie Choral Festival, and watch our student-athletes compete in swimming and basketball. Everyday, our students are achieving incredible feats, and I appreciate the vital role that parents and families play in support of all of our students.
February is a busy and important month in our school year. Among the various academic, athletic, artistic, and extracurricular activities ahead for our students, February provides us an opportunity to celebrate Black History Month. This month serves as a reminder to reflect on and honor the invaluable contributions of Black individuals throughout history, whose resilience, creativity, and activism have shaped the world we live in today.
Our students continue to impress me in their empathy and compassion for others. Our Student Government organized Erie High Schoolβs first ever Make-A-Wish Colorado fundraiser this week. Our entire school community, including many local businesses, enthusiastically joined in the effort to support this great cause. If you would like to learn more and make a contribution, please visit this link.
Next week, we look forward to celebrating our school counselors for National School Counselor Week. Please join me in thanking and honoring our outstanding Erie High School counseling team - Rachael Browning-Griesser, Amber Cowley, Kirsten Freudenburg, Jessica Meeks, Keri Mitchell, Tanya Senesac, and Becca Zahn. Our counseling team is dedicated to supporting academic success, personal well being, and college/career planning for our students. I am grateful to them for their sincere, steadfast commitment to the success of all Erie High School students.
Thank you for your continued partnership in the education of your child(ren). I hope you all have a great and restful weekend. Thank you for all that you do to support our school.
Sincerely,
Josh Griffin
Erie High School Principal
