5TH GRADE AT HOME LEARNING
WEEK OF May 25th
MESSAGE FROM THE 5TH GRADE TEAM
We understand that this is a unique and difficult time for many of our families. It is our goal to ensure that students continue working on assignments that would align to the instruction they would receive if they were here at school.
Each 5th grade teacher has created a Microsoft Team for their class. Mrs. Colley's assignments will post daily by 7:00AM. Mrs. Hood and Mrs. Gregware's assignments are long range assignments with due dates. A check list for each teacher will be sent out weekly. The checklist outlines the assignments that are to be completed daily. Most assignments will be completed through Microsoft Teams or they will follow a link to a familiar website to complete their assignments. Some assignments may require them to use paper and pencil. Any articles that they read in science, social studies, or as a Scholastic activity can be recorded on their ELA reading log. These assignments will be turned into their teacher when we return to school. If there are any difficulties or questions about these assignments, please contact us. We will do our best to respond during normal office hours from 8 am - 2:30 pm.
MICROSOFT TEAMS EXPECTATIONS AND TIPS FOR STUDENTS
Expectations
-Microsoft Teams "chat" is for students to ask the teacher questions related to assignments.
-Students are not to "chat" and have conversations with each other.
-Students should not post information if it is not related to assignments.
-Students should check assignment tabs daily for assignments.
-Teams is a public platform. If you need to ask your teacher a question or share something
you do not want your other classmates to see, then you need to email her.
-Teams is monitored by teachers and our DLT.
Tips
-We are all working together to learn more about Microsoft Teams and how to best use it to meet our students needs as they are learning from home.
-When working on assignments or posting assignments make sure you are not streaming videos, playing games, or using internet in other parts of the house.
-Do not get stressed with this process. Please reach out if you have questions.

MRS. COLLEY'S MATH ASSIGNMENT CHECKLIST FOR THE WEEK OF May 25th
All assignments will be posted in TEAMS each Monday morning for the week. Students need to check back in TEAMS daily for updates and announcements. On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, I will be having tutoring/info/question meeting at 11:30 am. Students need to come to TEAMS prepared to work and ask questions.
1. Multiply mixed numbers/Quadrilaterals in Study Island. Students need to click on the videos in the assignment and watch before completing.
2. iReady- I have assigned a lesson in iReady on Understanding the Coordinate plane. You will be doing the lesson and not your own path.
3. iReady- I have assigned a lesson in iReady on Solve word problems involving conversions
When students submit their work, it needs to be clear so that I can see it to grade it. If a clear pic can’t be taken, then type answers in a document and upload it.
