What's Happening ?? !!

Dear Hawley Parents/Guardians, Staff and Teachers,

Another school year coming to an end. What can I say but, WOW! When I look back, I am so proud of the work done in this building. Teachers and staff that go above and beyond for students. Parents that truly support our work and help at a moments notice. A PTA that enriches the experiences of students and families. And, students that always rise to the occasion and never cease to amaze me.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for everything, and enjoy your summer making memories with family and friends.

Buckle up, keep your hands and feet in the car at all times, and stay seated as you read on to find out What's Happening at Hawley .......

Hawley School supported the Newtown Police Department in their support of Special Olympics. We donated over $750 to them and got some exercise on a beautiful day ;0)

This is one of the most anticipated days of the year. It is the true spirit of Hawley as PTA, Parents, Teachers, Staff and students come together for a day of fun. It can not happen without all those pieces. And, the shirts were a hit, Thank You PTA!!!

4th graders lead the celebration. Mr. Wight's (Tatto's) class had the honors this go round. Student work is honored in writing and art, K sings, and a few Reader's Theatre Productions. Always a fun event.

What a wonderful tradition we started last year. After graduation, seniors return to their Elementary School and walk the halls with their caps & gowns. Very SPECIAL!

We end our year honoring much of the work done throughout the year. Award include, but are not limited to, Kids Care Club, Chorus, Math Olympiads, Student Council, Citizen's Awards and the Principal Award.

Again, thank you for a great year, and for the kind words and gifts, and for all of your support throughout the year. I am truly honored to be the educational leader of this very special school. Have a terrific Summer: rest & enjoy!!!
