Pirates Post
Week of October 31st
Message from Principal Drew...
Congratulations to our Marching Pirates on another stellar performance at the Crystal Coast Band Classic in Havelock on Saturday. They received 1st overall in the 2AA division as well as 1st for General Effect, Visual Performance, and Drum Major. They received 2nd for Music Performance and Visual Ensemble and 3rd for Percussion.
We have lots of exciting things happening this week at PCHS:
Monday - The Men's Soccer team will make history at PCHS. They will host a home playoff game versus Roxoboro Community at 6 PM at the Perquimans County Parks and Recreation facility. This team finished the regular season as undefeated conference champions for the first time in school history as well. Come out and support these boys as they begin the state playoffs.
Basketball tryouts will also begin on Monday. Any student wishing to play basketball must be academically eligible and have a current physical and all rank one forms on file to participate.
Tuesday - The Lady Pirates Volleyball team will host Roxoboro Community in the Eastern Regional Finals. Game time will be shared on our school Facebook page once it is confirmed. Let's Pack the Stands on Tuesday night and cheer these girls onto the state championship.
Friday - PCHS HOSA club will be hosting a blood drive in the gym lobby at PCHS. Eligible students can still sign up to give blood on this day and the PCHS community is encouraged to come and donate as well. Our goal is to collect at least 53 units this event. You may go online to preregister for a donation time or come into the gym lobby on Friday to check availability.
The Football team will also be traveling to Wilson Prep on Friday for the first round of the football state playoffs. Plan to make the trip to support the Pirates onto victory in Wilson on Friday night.
Tomorrow is. Halloween and we hope that everyone is has been able to enjoy or will enjoy later in the afternoon the fun associated with this holiday but costumes should not be worn to school to celebrate.
