unstoppable girls tour
The S Club will be hosting The Unstoppable Girls Tour at GLHS on Friday, March 15th. There will be five female guest speakers in the Media Center during all three lunch periods (periods 4, 5, & 6). Students will be able to go listen to the female guest speakers during their lunch period. Click here to learn more about the Unstoppable Girls Tour social movement.
teen truth assembly
On Thursday, March 21st we will be hosting the TEEN TRUTH assembly for all 9th, 10th, 11th and fifteen 8th graders here at the high school. The TEEN TRUTH assembly is an anti-bullying and school culture program that has been around for 15 years. This assembly is designed to:
- empower student voice
- create cohesive school communities
- build school cultures that create safety and inclusion, and
- inspire students, teachers and parents to be the difference in their own and others' lives
Additionally, 40 students will be selected to participate in the TEEN TRUTH Leadership Summit on this day as well. The 2-hour leadership summit will be held at Clark Hall after our morning assemblies. As part of the Leadership Summit students will get to think critically about social-emotional issues, like bullying and inclusivity and then create a plan to improve school culture for everyone.
We will operate on a normal bell schedule for the day
Chromebook loaner update
Students are responsible for bringing their Chromebook and charger to school each day so they may gain access to communication, resources and learning tools in and outside of the classroom. Per our Chromebook Handbook, if a student leaves their Chromebook at home, they may check out a loaner Chromebook/case from the building defined location. However, due to a limited supply of loaner Chromebooks, effective April 1st, loaner Chromebooks will only be made available to students if their Chromebook has been submitted for repair to the technology department.
If students leave their Chromebook at home they are still responsible for getting their class work completed. If a student continues to have issues with not bringing their Chromebook, they will be referred to a building administrator.
