Note from Mrs. Phelan
Good Afternoon, Lowell Families,
What a wonderful summer this is! I hope that you and your families are finding ways to stay cool and enjoy the outdoors.
Classroom/Teacher Assignments for the Coming Year
Class assignments were just sent home via email. If you have questions, please contact me directly at stacy.phelan@watertown.k12.ma.us
As you may be aware, many factors are considered when creating balanced classes that meet the needs of all students. Our teaching teams have not changed much since last year. We did go down one section in second grade. We will have three second-grade classrooms, Mr. MacLellan & Mrs. Goodearl (co-taught), Mrs. Beaver (formerly Ms. Hudon), and Mrs. Seward. We will have four first-grade classrooms this year. Mrs. Hantson will be returning to our first-grade team.

Clarification of Kindergarten Start Dates
I apologize for the error in the placement letter.
Here is some clarification regarding the first week of Kindergarten:
- Tuesday, September 6th - Half-hour tours for students (see your placement emails for the time you are scheduled)
- Wednesday, September 7th - 8:00 AM –12:00 PM (lunch, no extended day, no school bus for Kindergarten)
- Thursday and Friday, September 8th & 9th - 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Regular, full day, lunch, & extended day)
Supply Lists - There aren't any!
There will no longer be a school supply list sent home to students. During Covid, the District provided materials for students and we have decided (across the three elementary schools) to continue with this practice. We hope that this makes things easier for all of our families and students!
Free Breakfast and Lunch Continues This Year
We are thrilled that Governor Baker has signed into law a one-year extension of School Meals for All for the 2022-2023 school year. This allows all children in Watertown to continue to receive free breakfast and lunch daily.
As always, I thank you for your continued support of our wonderful school.
Warmest regards,
Stacy Phelan, Principal
