Hemlock Public School District joins school districts around the country in celebrating National Principals Month. Thank you, building leaders, for everything you do each and every day.

Coach Clark will be selling Hemlock Football hooded sweatshirts from his classroom this week. Sweatshirts can be chosen between white, navy, or heather gray. First come, first serve. $25. Checks can be written to Hemlock Public Schools, Football Sweatshirts in the memo line.

This past Saturday was National Custodian Appreciation Day and we want to give a special shout out to our high school custodians - Mike Walton, Dean Keeler & Tammy Seaver. They keep our school clean and safe for students and staff.

Hemlock High School Drama's Dinner Theatre: Cafe Murder! This dinner theatre will take place in the new Judy Turner Black Box theatre at Hemlock Middle School. Tickets are $15 which includes an Italian dinner, drinks, and dessert!

This hilarious murder mystery comedy features Rosemary Saint-John, who is a loud, annoying hypochondriac convinced she is allergic to water. Celebrating her birthday at a restaurant with her four kooky siblings, Rosemary makes enemies with everyone around her. When she disappears and is presumed murdered, the only objective witnesses in the restaurant are the audience members, who must cast their vote. Was it one of Rosemary’s siblings? The self-taught detective? The passionate French chef? The polite and proper maître d’? The sarcastic waiter? No one is above suspicion in this delightful dinner theatre murder mystery! Whether for young or old, you’ll find lots of laughs at the café!

Showtimes: 10/28, 10/29 & 10/29, 6:30-8:30pm

Fall testing will be conducted at the high school on October 13th. Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors are expected to take the PSAT beginning in the morning. Seniors will have a synchronous learning day and do not need to report to the building for attendance. Make sure to get a good night's rest and be ready to give your best effort!

The Varsity Boys Soccer team will face Nouvel on their home turf on Thursday, October 14th at 5pm for the 1st round of district play. Tickets are $6 a person and must be purchased at the gate.

9/29/21 - JV Volleyball vs. Bullock Creek - L (21-25, 17-25)

9/30/21 - JV Football vs. Bullock Creek - W (14-8) Touchdowns scored by Michael Murphy, Dawson Doan, and a 2 point conversion from Murphy to Doan, were the difference. The defense played strong all night, led by Trent Brady. Another great win for the boys as they look toward a matchup next week with the Carrollton Cavaliers!

9/30/21 - V Tennis vs. Alma - L (3-5) Winning by forfeit were at 4 Doubles were Ashlynn Wrona and Morgan Walle. Ben Lockwood won 6-1, 6-2 at 2 Singles. Also, Maria Hagarty and Izzy Loucks won 6-3, 6-1 at 3 Doubles. Zach Krueger at 1 Singles lost a great match in a 3rd set tiebreaker. Furthermore, Tyler Vasher and Kahl Mallek took an undefeated 1 Doubles team to a 6-7 set.

10/1/21 - V Tennis @ TVC Meet - At the TVC Championships Ben Lockwood at 2 Singles won his first match against Bay City John Glenn 6-1, 6-0 and lost to the #1 seed Frankenmuth in a great match. Izzy Loucks and Maria Hagarty won their first match in a 3rd set tiebreaker vs. Alma 4-6, 7-6, 6-2. Izzy and Maria now have 10 wins on the season!

10/1/21 - V Football @ Bullock Creek - W (40-26) As Hemlock built a 21 point lead heading into the fourth quarter, Creek came storming back to nearly tie the game. Hunter Stryzinski block the PAT kick, then Hemlock hammered down to put Creek away. Anthony Zechmeister recorded an insane 18 tackles from his defensive end position along with 4 tackles for loss, 2 QB sacks, and 1 caused fumble. Robert Knapik ran the ball for 153 tough yards and 3TDS. Bob also provided a huge boost with his 79 yard kick return in the fourth quarter.

10/2/21 - Equestrian - Reagan Keyser placed 3rd out of 9 teams at Regionals. It was a tight competition with just 22 points separating the top three teams. Reagan scored a total of 202 points.

10/4/21 - V Soccer @ Calvary Baptist - L (2-5) Jake Funka scored and had an assist. Sander Reidsma scored and had an assist.

10/5/21 - V Tennis @ BC Central - L (2-6) Big Winners were #3 Singles Owen Nurnberg 6-3, 6-3 and Freshmen Spence Burns at #4 Singles 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 in a 3 set tiebreaker. Losing some tough 3 set matches were Ben Lockwood at #2 Singles and at #1 Doubles Tyler Vasher and Kahl Mallek.
