Journeying in Hope and Love: Building a Culture of Accompaniment
The Road to Emmaus
As they approached the village to which they were going,
he gave the impression that he was going on farther.
But they urged him, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening and the day is almost over.”
So he went in to stay with them.
And it happened that, while he was with them at table,
he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them.
With that their eyes were opened and they recognized him,
but he vanished from their sight.
Then they said to each other, “Were not our hearts burning [within us]
while he spoke to us on the way and opened the scriptures to us?”
Then the two recounted what had taken place on the way
and how he was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.

Dear St. Clare School Families,
Thank you for your show of support and appreciation for our faculty and staff throughout Catholic Schools Week. As Student Council mentioned on Thursday, you are the primary educators of your children. We are here to support you in the formation of your children's faith and in ensuring that they thrive and succeed even in the most challenging of situations.
These past few weeks have been particularly challenging, but I am amazed at the resilience of our students and the perseverance of our faculty and staff. I am grateful that they come to school each day determined to share their love of teaching and their joy in their ministry with their students. They know the impact they are making in making sure their students know they are known and they are loved. During these times, these are the things that matter most.
It's hard to believe that we are three weeks away from the end of the second trimester. Now is a good time to check in with your students and their teachers. What are the ways where learning should be accelerating or where more practice is needed to achieve mastery? What habits have been formed for future success and what behaviors still need to be reinforced to thrive and succeed?
Your teachers will keep you posted on what's going on in the classroom so that you can support the students at home. Stay tuned for the ParentSquare posts!
In the weeks to come, let's remember our collective commitment to work together with kindness and understanding, using the promise of the Silver Box philosophy to wrap our words in silver. We are still experiencing so much anxieties and worries for our health, the future of our children and the state of our world. We have to dig deeply to trust that God is with us and that together, we can overcome our fears with hope and love for one another.
With gratitude and thanksgiving, I hope this second week in February will bring us the respite we need to breathe through our anxieties and fears and overcome them by trusting that we have each other and faith in the God who loves us, no matter our shortcomings.
Peace and all good things,
Mrs. Cecile Mantecon, Principal

2021-22 School Calendar
Below, you will find the Calendar Grid for the school year. Some find this difficult to navigate, so I’ve created the Calendar Highlights document which I hope will make it a bit easier for you to consume.
Some changes since the end of the school year: we added September 20th as a NO SCHOOL DAY and our School Year will end a day earlier. The original calendar had us attending 183 days of school, knowing that we had three days over the required 180 days. We are keeping the 181 days in the event we have to close for an emergency due to poor air quality.
Other options to view the calendar include a Google calendar synched to ParentSquare, or subscribing to the St. Clare School Public Calendar below:
