A Note from Mrs. Pitts
Dear RES Families and Supporters,
This will be the last newsletter of 2023! I like to think that everyone will read my newsletter the Thursday before break but I am realistic and practical. Have a wonderful winter break and please join us in some fun winter spirit next week (see chart below).
Have a great weekend,
Michelle Pitts, RES Principal

Holiday Parties
Parties: When planning, keep in mind the following recommendations from the Wellness Committee for all parties:
*We do ask that room parents/guardians email Lori Flint all food choices a week ahead so there are no surprises and Mrs. Flint can process whether these are safe for all students in a particular class. Please email her if you have questions! lflint@sau50.org

This Week's Highlights
The Riptide Rye-thms
Stocking Elves
Of the Day Day!
One of my favorite activities of the year, Principal of the Day! It gives me an opportunity to train future leaders. The PTA raffles these experiences at Trunk or Treat (Art Teacher of the Day, Music Teacher of the Day, etc) so students can experience what it is like to be an educator for just one day. My quote of the day, "Principals don't walk, we run!" Such a fun experience with an incredible future leader.

Lunch with Students
We do allow one family member at a time to have lunch with their child(ren) but this is very optional and we don't want families to feel pressured to attend.
- Email resoffice@sau50.org if you would like to attend with the date/time (starting October 1). It is important to anticipate who will be in the building. We love these opportunities for students and their family members but we will always put safety first.
- We do have a focus during this time...eating for energy and brain power!
- Family members must meet the child in the cafeteria and leave from the cafeteria.
- Lunch times are:
Kindergarten-11:45-12:10
First Grade-12:15-12:40
Second Grade-12:15-12:40
Third Grade- 11:15-11:40
Fourth Grade-11:15-11:40
