Congratulations to the winners of the Peppers Cooking Contest sponsored by Pepper’s Landing! The judges declared a tie for first place. Winners Angelina Vo and Caleb Chang prepared a cream cheese stuffed jalapeno, wrapped in bacon with a raspberry sauce. Winners Tayler Casey and Alan Molnar created a roasted pepper bisque topped with a toasted parmesan cheese crisp. Both dishes were beautifully plated and delicious! Athletic News
Spring Athletic Sign Ups Are Live
Dear Parent/Guardian:
It is time to register your student-athlete for participation in spring athletics. To do this, log into Power School with your Parent credentials, click "General" and then "Forms".
The spring season dates include dates over April vacation and may extend into the summer vacation. If you have questions about the season for a particular sport, feel free to contact the athletic office at any time.
Please note the registration deadline for your sport below. Early registration is appreciated, as knowing how many students will participate best allows us to plan for our programs.
Softball and baseball pitchers and catchers need to complete registration by Friday, March 15 to participate in Pitching/Catching training beginning on Monday, March 18.
All other participants for all sports need to complete registration prior to Friday, March 22 to avoid any delays to participation on Monday, March 25.
Please reach out with any questions you may have. For your convenience, I have included some FAQs below.
FAQs:
Q: If my student registered for a fall or winter sport, do I have to upload the physical again?
A: No; you may upload your student's most recent physical exam documentation if you have not previously provided it.
Q: I don't see the option to complete the registration under Forms.
A: Ensure you are signed in through your parent portal; the form is not visible through a student's portal.
Q: Does my student need a physical every year, or every two years?
A: Every 2 years. This is the case even if your student is transitioning from 8th to 9th grade.
Q: Getting our student a physical exam is a financial hardship. Is there help available?
A: Please contact Rita Maines (rmaines@brunswicksd.org); we will provide access to a free physical exam at Convenient MD for your student.
Q: Is uploading a document from the doctor required?
A: No, uploading a document is not required. We require the date of the most recent physical examination. You may upload your student's most recent physical exam documentation if you have not previously provided it.

Naviance How To
All students have access to this resource that BHS uses for a variety of purposes in the process of investigating career paths and post secondary education options. If students have not yet accessed their Naviance account, they should be doing this in Flex (juniors will be getting passwords next week, in the event your student hasn’t logged in yet).
All students can take a variety of surveys to investigate areas of interest and career pathways and eventually start their list of potential colleges to apply to as seniors.
How to access Naviance:
Naviance can be used to help explore careers and college options/searches. In grade 12 Naviance is used (as a data management tool) to send out all materials from BHS for college applications - including transcripts and letters of recommendation.
1. Go to the BHS Website
2. Select Explore on the top right of the page.
3. Under the Student Column, there is Naviance listed.
4. Type in 04011 for the zip code and select Brunswick High School
5. Usernames are the prefix of emails for BHS (do not include the @portion)
6. Passwords should have been set in Flex or when meeting with school counselors for grades 9 and 10, grade 11 students may have them now or will get them next week.
Where to start?--- Go to Self- Discovery (at top) Complete the surveys!
Reminder - Seniors
Seniors-- you should be indicating in Naviance the responses you are receiving from colleges (acceptances) along with the school you plan on attending (once you know). Check with your counselor if you aren’t sure how to do this.
