Mr. Durham, a Warren Central Alumni, came to us as a Guest Teacher and transferred into an Instructional Assistant role. He became our Study Hall Supervisor a few years ago. Mr. Durham will go above and beyond to help any student or staff member. He's been instrumental in helping with the item distribution nights and several other behind the scenes projects while students have not been in the building.

We are very lucky to have him be part of the Warrior Family!

This week (January 25-29) was "The Great Kindness Challenge" and our Warren Central LIFE Program participated in spreading kindness at school and home. See some of the students below with the banner they created!

All Juniors and select Seniors will be taking the ISTEP+ in February. Seniors that are still in need of a graduation pathway will be expected to attend ISTEP+. Please see the "TESTING SECTION" below for more information.

Tutoring has changed to Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-4:45. Food will be provided by Chartwells and transportation will be provided home. See the flyer for more information.

There will no school on Monday, February 15th due to President's Day. Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, Presidents' Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents, past and present.

Tuesday, February 16th will be a district-wide eLearning Day for all students. This will be a staff professional development day.

High School students will return to the HYBRID IN-PERSON and VIRTUAL model on Wednesday, February 17th. Please see the Black and Gold Schedule below.

Testing for the Spring ISTEP+ will begin next week and last through the end of February. This round of ISTEP+ will be completed by ALL Juniors, as well as select Seniors that have not passed or have met a graduation pathway. Testing will take place at Warren Central High School. Students must attend all four days they are scheduled. Information has been emailed to all students that need to test.

ALL Juniors:

• Last Names A-K --> February 2nd through February 5th
• Last Names L-Z --> February 9th through February 12th

Select Seniors:

• Seniors A-Z who have not passed or met a pathway --> February 9th through February 12th

Next week is National School Counseling Week. Take a moment to thank your Counselor. They do so much to support each of our students, as well as our wonderful staff.

Some students have stated they are struggling with being able to maintain a good sleep schedule throughout the week. Here are some helpful tips on creating a good nighttime routine to ensure a restful night's sleep.

1. Lower the lights and temperature in the room
2. Take a shower an hour before heading to bed
3. Turn off all electronic devices 30 minutes before going to sleep
4. Make a to-do list or write in a journal to clear your head
5. Drink something warm, like chamomile tea, to help relax your body

We would love to hear your voice and gather your perceptions related to equity in our District! You’re invited to participate in the Warren Equity and Inclusion Diagnostic Survey, between now and Wednesday, Feb. 3rd. Your participation is entirely voluntary. The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous.

The 3rd round of the Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) will begin to be mailed out to your home on January 31, 2021. It is essential that you keep your card, as additional P-EBT assistance will be loaded back onto this same card. Again, PLEASE KEEP THIS CARD.
