Appointments of Individuals and Agencies to Certain School District Functions (2.1)
Kansas state statutes require school districts to appoint individual and agencies to certain school district functions. This year's appointments can be found HERE.
Early Release Update - Educational Services (10.1)
Highlights included:
As parents enroll their children, they will indicate whether or not they plan for their child to stay after school.
Schools will continue to communicate information to families regarding logistics as we prepare for the first Early Release on September 13.
Elementary schools will confirm families' intentions prior to September 13.
Case Managers of students with IEPs will communicate directly with parents and specific plans will be developed, as needed.

City of Gardner RHID Review (11.1)
The City of Gardner passed this resolution, and invites people to attend the hearing.
Intent to Exceed Revenue Neutral Rate for FY24 (11.2)
Amy Droegemeier, Executive Director of Finance, presented the action to approve notification to Johnson & Miami County Clerks of Intent to Exceed Revenue Neutral Rate as detailed on "Notice of Revenue Neutral Rate Intent form" with RNR/Budget hearings scheduled for September 11, 2023.
KSDE Accreditation and Certificate for USD 231 (11.3)
Dr. Brian Huff, Superintendent, shared that the District achieved FULL accreditation from the Kansas State Department of Education. Highlights from the letter sent by Randy Watson, Commissioner of Education, stated "I am pleased to announce that the Kansas State Board of Education voted July 11, 2023, to grant USD 231 Gardner Edgerton the status of Accredited. This status is effective July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2028...The “Accredited” status indicates that USD 231 Gardner Edgerton is effectively serving the needs of its students by demonstrating a focus on the success of each student."

Board of Education Goals and Self Evaluation (11.4)
Dr. Brian Huff, Superintendent, described the upcoming Board of Education retreat, during which the BOE and Dr. Huff will review goals and set their direction for the upcoming year.
- 2.1 - Approval of appointments of Individuals and Agencies to Certain School District Functions, 2023-2024
- 7.1-7.4 - Approved the minutes of the regular meeting held on June 12, 2023; Approved contracts attached subject to the requirements of Kansas law and without waiving any mandatory provisions required b Kansas law.; Approved financial statement; Approved claims.
- 11.2 - Approved notification to Johnson & Miami County Clerks of Intent to Exceed Revenue Neutral Rate as detailed on "Notice of Revenue Neutral Rate Intent form" with RNR/Budget hearings scheduled for September 11, 2023.
- 11.7 - Approved personnel report.
- 11.9 - Approved the Ratification of Teacher Negotiated Agreement (Contract) for 2023-2024.
- 11.10 - Approved special education hard to fill stipends for those employed during the 2023-2024 school year."
- 11.11 - Approved a classified employee salary increase for the 2023-2024 school year. Identified classified employees who have been continuously employed with the district on/before, June 30, 2023, will receive a 6.0% increase on their 2022-2023 base hourly rate of pay."
- 11.12 - Approved to extend paraeducator work day to 7 hours and 15 minutes of work time per day.
- 11.13 - Approved increased compensation for returning Technology, Advance Tech Center and Administrative employees for the 2023-2024 school year. Compensation to be increased by 4.2% above 2022-2023 base salaries.
- 11.15 - Approved an increase in salary for the Superintendent's contract (SY 23-24).
