Athletic Director Notes:
Spring sports thrive! We have state, regional, and area qualifiers.
The spring is many things for an athletic director; busy, hectic, exciting, competitive, prideful. Being able to watch and support all of our spring student-athletes has been not only exciting, but satisfying as well. For many, it all begins in the late spring off-season, when all the sports are over and preparations begin for next year. Then we transition into summer strength and conditioning and a short time later, the fall sports kick off a brand new year of games, tournaments and meets. It's a cycle that has kept me going for almost 3 decades and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Go Lady Warriors !

The mixed doubles team of Alli Kirkpatrick and Jagger Lindsey are District Champions and after competing in the regional round, they have advanced to state! The state meet will be held in San Antonio on April 25th and 26th. Max Stolle was crowned District Champ as well, in the boys singles division. Max competed very well at the regional tournament in Tyler, finishing in 4th place. So proud of our tennis teams and Coach Bockman!

Jr. High Track completes a successful season at the District Meet in Bells
Our Jr. High track girls made progress throughout the season and finished with a solid performance in Bells on April 3rd. 8th grade girls and 7th grade girls each finished 3rd overall in the district. Field events were canceled due to heavy rains and based on their field event results throughout the season, the team totals would have been even better if they could have competed. Great job by our Jr. High coaches keeping those Jr. High numbers at almost 90 participants!

Lady Warrior Softball stays in the hunt for a District title
Currently ranked #22 in the state!
Things are getting very interesting in the softball district race. It has been a 3-team battle throughout district play between our Lady Warriors, Gunter and Pottsboro. After a big win over Bells and a 7-3 victory over Gunter on March 31st, we fell to Pottsboro in a 1-0 pitcher's duel on April 7th. We have now split the season series against Pottsboro and Gunter. As of 4/14, the district standings show Bells in first place (7-2), with Bonham in 2nd (6-3), and Pottsboro 3rd (6-4). Our ladies play at Bells on 4/18 in a huge district matchup. This team has grit and they are fun to watch!
The annual Warrior Relays and Jr. High track meets are a success!
Hundreds of athletes and spectators gathered at Warrior Stadium on March 28 & 30.
It takes a village to host not one, but two track meets in 3 days. Approximately 50 workers (coaches, volunteers, booster club members, faculty, administrators) pitched in to make this annual sporting event one of the best in North Texas. The Warrior Relays has been a Bonham tradition for decades and we work extremely hard to operate an organized and competitive meet year after year. Our kids and coaches get the privelege and convenience of competing in our home stadium, while our booster club profits from concession sales. The event also brings Warrior track alumni back home to the venue where they once competed.

Jacob Gorden's signing day will be Monday, April 17th at 11:00 in the Leonard Gerner Gymnasium. Jacob's first college visit was all he needed to decide that East Texas Baptist University was the right fit for him. He will continue his long jumping success at ETBU. Jacob is currently the 2-time 11AAA Champ in the event. He placed 6th in the region in 2022.
