Thank you to all of our staff at Zilker Elementary!!
Be sure to show appreciation to our entire staff this week for all the hard work they have done through the year!
Whether it's through kind words in an email, a small gift of appreciation, or some flowers - take time this week to shower our staff with reminders of the impact they make each day for our students!!
We are closer to 73% of Zilker students registered for next year!!!
Preperation for the 22/23 School Year!! Yes, it's that time already.
We will begin creating class lists in the coming weeks based off of registered students. So please complete the registration this week so we can have a smooth process.
With input from you, your child's teachers, and our administration team, the formal process for class placement will begin this month. Lists will not be finalized until August and released the week prior to school starting. This is when teachers and all staff report back to work officially.
Creating class lists is something we take very seriously with lots of feedback and collaboration of our team here at Zilker. We are purposeful to create classes that are balanced, and will lead to success for all stakeholders: your child, the parents, the teacher, and the school as a whole.
If you would like to add input about your child's strengths and opportunities for growth you are wanting to see, below is an optional form to complete. This form will only be used by the administrative team during the class creation process. Two specifics to note: We will not be taking specific teacher requests as we are VERY proud of our entire teaching staff. Also, we request you refrain from requesting friends to join your child. Each child has his/her own needs and will be placed on those indiviudal needs.
Lastly, you will receive an email from me this week if you have not registered.
If you are not returning to Zilker, please email me (aj.pitts@austinisd.org) so we can take you off the list to remind.
ALL STUDENTS (new and returning) need to register at https://www.austinisd.org/enroll

Farm Stand Success!!
Our 5th graders worked hard and brought back a Zilker tradition this week with our Farm Stand led by their teachers: Ms. Avant, Russell and Thompson. Along with Ms. Dita, a parent.
I am copying the words of one of our 5th graders who I think articulates our appreciation perfectly to Ms. Dita.
Dear Ms. Dita,
Thank you so much for organizing the Fab 5 Farm Stand! It's obvious how how hard you worked to make sure we had an amazing time, and you sacrificed a lot of your time for us by organizing us, making sure everyone got the jobs they wanted, were in the right places, and made our overall experience unforgettable. I had a blast doing the Farm Stand, and my favorite part was shouting things such as "Books one dollar off! Buy one get one free!"
I loved selling all of our products, and you walking around with a smile made my day!
Thank you so, so much! We all really appreciate the hours of work and careful planning that went in to the Farm Stand!
I will always remember the 5th Grade Farm Stand, and the amazing person who organized it!
Thank you so much,
Katie
