1) Your child needs to complete 220 Credits to graduate from High School.
All students need to complete each course with a D or better in order to receive credit in their courses. They also need to complete a particular number of credits in each core content and elective category. Please see the graphic below for more information.
2) A-G is important for students planning to attend a 4 year university. Our courses meet this requirement.
A-G is a list of content area categories - English, Math, Social Science, Science etc. All students must complete a certain number of years in each category in order to meet the basic requirements for college admission. A-G is University of California and California State University requirement, however, private universities also follow these requirements.
3) AP/IB/Honors/College Prep
These titles distinguish the level of rigor for various courses.
AP/IB - Most rigorous courses. At the completion of course students may opt-in to complete a test, or series of tests, to receive college credit for the course.
Honors - Rigorous courses. These courses are typically designed to prepare students for continued study at the AP/IB level. College credit opportunity is not available for these courses.
College Prep - Is our standard course. This level course meets A-G requirements for university admissions.
