Quarter 2 Reflection

I choose to do the Linoleum cut project because it looked like it was going to be a challenging project and it look like it was going to make a successful project. I created a turtle that was in the water for a design. It was really hard to do because I did not do my trace correctly but it still turned out to be somewhat close to what I was trying to make. The process I had to go through to create this project is first I had to draw my design on a my print on a white piece of paper first to show how i would like my print to look. Second I had to copy my print onto the linoleum cut with a black sharpie. Next I had to use cutting tools to carve out the design. Then I had to use the printing ink and the rolling tools to roll the ink on the linoleum cut. Lastly i put the linoleum cut on a white piece of paper so that it could print and I was finish.

For my quarter 3 project I did a Limited palette painting, where you only choose 3 main colors for your painting and use them. I did this project because I really love painting its like my favorite thing to do in art. the design I decided to do for this painting is a picture of a seashell. For the process I figured out what kind of design I wanted to paint sketch it out, then i copied it over to the paper that was going to be used for painting. I choose my main three colors for the painting which was a dark blue mixed with an acrylic black, and a yellow and orange color. I decided to use acrylic paint because I feel like that kind of paint is better than regular paint. That is what I did for my quarter 3 project I enjoyed this project a lot my favorite project this year.

The most important thing I have learned about making art is as long as the artist is satisfied with the work they have done then that is considered a big accomplishment. It took me a while to understand that because I was always focus on what everybody else see in my art instead of just trying my best and making sure I am at least satisfied with the work i have done. I feel like that is very important to know as an artist because if the artist is not satisfied with their work than its like it all was done for nothing. It took me a while to get it over the years but I finally got it. What i have learned about myself while doing these projects is i have to choose designs that i will enjoy doing or it wont come out the way that i want it to look. I use to have a hard time doing all my work but that was because I was always afraid to try because I did not want to do anything wrong over the years I grew out of that and now every time I do an art project I always do things I've never done before because I am always inspired to try new things.

The project that I've done this year that I am most proud of is the limited palette painting. That was by far the best painting I have done this year. Its my favorite because I started off with so many complications to the point where I was about to choose to do something else for my art project. But I stuck with the project and was okay with my mistakes and just tried to fix the mistakes that I made and in my eyes my project turned out just the way that I wanted it to look. Perfection of an art project to me is when it comes out to look at least close to the goal the artist was trying to reach. I feel like it turned out better than what I expected and I was so glad that I decided to stay with that art project despite all the mistakes that I made in the beginning. That was also my biggest weakness on my art work always giving up when a step did not go the way that I wanted it to go but I learned to work past my mistakes and fix them to the best of my ability.

The art I would like to work on next is string art.String art is another form of art i enjoy. I wanted to do a string art out of my son's name because i never got the chance to do it last year and I was upset because I wanted to see how it would turn out to be. That is my next goal to do and if I do not get the chance to do it this year in school I will get my materials and do it on my own just to see how it will turn out. The artist Leonardo De Vinci was my favorite artist because to me his work is just amazing I also like his style. I am pretty sure everybody know of the famous Mona Lisa painting. That is my favorite art work by him.

The art i would like to do next is mix media. I would like to do mix media because that was the art project i found interesting and wanted to work on because its so many different options you can do in one art project. I wanted to work with paint color, and shading pencils.
