Dear Greene County Elementary Students and Families,

I am very excited to introduce myself to you! My name is Audrey Hinote and I will be serving as the new principal of Greene County Elementary. I have taught in Greene County since 2009 in 2nd grade, 1st grade, and 3rd grade. The past 3 years I have served as our District Math Instructional Coach. I live in Jefferson with my husband, Josh, and our 4 children: Noah (15), Carter (14), Ava (11), and Grace (8).

I am excited to welcome you back to the 2022-23 school year and serve as your principal! Every new school year brings excitement and new opportunities for growth. I am sure you experienced the excitement of our teachers to meet you, your children, and begin the wonderful journey of learning together. Our mission at Greene County Elementary, in partnership with our families, is to ensure student growth socially, emotionally, and academically. We will serve you and your children in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.

We are looking forward to making the 2022-2023 school year a wonderful experience for children, families, and staff. We appreciate the opportunity to educate your children and inspire them to be lifelong learners.

The first day of school is an exciting time for parents and students! We have a photo opportunity inside the building for the first day of school, Tuesday, August 23. Feel free to take a picture of your child in front of the Back to School sign inside the doors before you say good-bye on the first day.

Students are allowed to be dropped off at 7:50 or later.

Breakfast is served from 7:50-8:10.

1st bell rings at 8:10.

2nd bell rings at 8:20, followed by announcements and the start of our day.

The dismissal procedures are much the same as last year:

• 3:25 walkers and riders dismissed
• 3:35 bus students dismissed

Students can be picked up in the pick up lane, or you can park and meet them at the door. Parking is limited near our school, so just plan accordingly.

• 8.23 Students arrive!
• 8.30 PK Students arrive!
• 9.1 5:30-6:30 Girls Scouts meeting in the lunchroom (kindergarten-4th grade)
• 9.14 4th Grade Field Trip to the Farm
• 9.19-23 Scholastic Book Fair in the Library
• 9.20 5:00-7:00 Family Night at the Book Fair...more info to come on this!
• 9.22 1st Grade Blank Park Zoo Field Trip sponsored and hosted by Beta Tau Delta
