Hathaway Community,
Fall is always a busy time here at Hathaway and there is a lot happening in November!We start the month off with DIa de Los Muertos and Daylight Savings! We also finish the first Trimester of the year on Friday, November 12, which is also a minimum day.
Kindergarten will exit at 11:26 am.
Grades 1 - 3 will exit at 12:50 pm.
Grades 4 - 5 will exit at 1:00 pm.
We also have a Veterans Day Holiday and we have Fall Picture Re-Takes Thursday, November 18. Also, we have Thanksgiving Break from November 22 - November 26. Immediately following Thanksgiving Break Hathaway will be hosting Parent and Teacher conferences. Your student's teacher will be reaching out to you to set up a virtual or in person conference. We will do our best to accommodate you and the needs of your family.
The Hathaway staff and I want to thank our parents and community members for all of your support and everything that you have done to make the start of our year a success! If you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress or need any support at school or home, please stop by, call, email or text us!

Veterans Day
Veterans Day is a time for us to pay our respects to those who have served. For one day, we stand united in respect for our veterans.
Veterans Day is on the same day every year -- November 11 -- regardless of on which day of the week it falls.
We celebrate and honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

Fall Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent conferences: November 29th - December 10th, 2021
We are excited to share what we have learned this Fall and how we can continue to work together to bring out the best in you student.
Parent Conference Daily Schedule:
Kinder: 8:05 am. - 11:26 am.
First, Second, Third: 8:05 am. - 1:20 pm.
Fourth, Fifth: 8:05 am. - 1:40 pm.
Your student's teacher will be reaching out to you to set up a virtual or in person conference. We will do our best to accommodate you and the needs of your family.

Celebrating Student Art
Free COVID Testing Sites! Change in hours
Testing is available to all HESD staff and students ONLY. The testing site is paid through special state grant funds, therefore it is NOT available to the public, including staff and student family members who are not associated with the District.
Please read the attached letter from HESD for more information.
Two testing locations:
- Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: Blackstock Junior High School, 701 E. Bard Road
- Tuesdays and Thursdays: Haycox Elementary School, 5400 Perkins Road
Testing hours are 12:00 pm. - 4:00 pm. at each location. Both testing sites are walk-up only, no appointments necessary.
To register your Hathaway student for COVID testing please click HERE. This link is ONLY for Hathaway students. Students only need to register once before the first time they take a COVID test at a district site.
Student and Staff Safety at Hathaway
Reminder to all that we will be continuing to practice safety first for all staff and students:
Temperature screenings will be conducted before students enter their classrooms.
Please screen your child at home each day for fever or symptoms and do not send your child to school if he/she is symptomatic or sick.
Students should not come to school if they have any COVID-19 related Symptoms such as:
Runny Nose/Congestion
Cough
Sore Throat
Headache
Fatigue/Muscle or Body Aches
Fever above 99.5 degrees
Loss of Smell/Taste
Difficulty Breathing
Hathaway Neighborhood For Learning Classes available now!
A child’s brain develops faster from birth to age three than at any other period in life, building the foundation for a child’s future learning, behavior, and health. First 5 Neighborhoods for Learning (NfLs) are helping families raise children who are healthy, nurtured, and prepared for kindergarten supporting children prenatal through age five and their families.
Hathaway NfL has open enrollment and space for you and your child for our upcoming class sessions! Classes begin November 1, 2021.
