Hello, BHS students, families, and staff, and welcome Class of 2027!


As we turn the page on the 2022-23 school year and as we look ahead to 2023-24, we want to provide you with the information below. While our teachers are not available in the summer months, we will have staff available throughout July and August to assist you with whatever you may need. You can reach the BHS Main Office at (585) 637-1870 7:00am-3:00pm Monday - Friday.


Additional information regarding the start of the 2023-24 school year will be communicated in August.

Congratulations to the Class of 2023

Families, friends, and BCSD staff gathered on June 24 to celebrate the Brockport High School Class of 2023 during Commencement at SUNY Brockport's SERC.


Valedictorian Emma Hopsicker, Salutatorian Aiden Mayes Podulso and Class President KhaNy Sangasy all provided their fellow graduates with words of inspiration, along with Superintendent Bruno, Principal Michael Pincelli and keynote speaker Dan Viola.

Congratulations to the Class of 2023. Best of luck in all you do. We know you will go on to accomplish great things!

Brockport High School Update from Superintendent Sean Bruno

We are excited to announce Brockport High School will implement an updated schedule for the 2023-24 school year! This updated schedule will maximize student access to programs, increase learning opportunities, and increase alignment to the New York State Education Department Graduation Pathways by adding one additional class period to the daily schedule. The hours of instruction at the high school will remain the same, 7:35 a.m.-2:15 p.m. and will continue to operate on a four-day ABCD rotation schedule.


The new schedule features:

  • Opportunities for students to enroll in additional courses that align with the New York State Education Department Graduation Pathways by adding a class period to the daily schedule.
  • 70-minute classes (a change from current 75-minute classes)
  • Advisement will meet every other day
  • An increase in required credits from 5.5 to 6.5 credits each year, providing our students with more course options and flexibility, and the opportunity to enroll in additional courses during their high school career in their chosen pathway to graduation.


Thank you to the BHS Master Schedule Committee for leading this continuous improvement process which provides additional opportunities and flexibility for our students. The committee convened in August 2022 and includes representatives from all departments in the high school.


During the course request process, counselors worked with students to identify additional course selections to account for this anticipated schedule change. Within the next few weeks, you will be receiving communication through Campus Portal that includes your child’s course requests and alternate selections for the 2023-24 school year. Please be aware that these course requests will be carefully utilized to build the BHS master schedule for the upcoming school year, so we respectfully request that when you receive this communication, it is important that you verify your child’s course requests are correct and accurate.


Once student schedules are finalized in August, we will inform families so that you and your child have time to prepare for the 2023-2024 school year. As always, there will be opportunities to address schedule concerns before the start of the school year.

Thank you for your support as we prepare for and implement our new schedule. We look forward to the increased opportunities and post graduate preparedness this will provide for our students.

Counseling Communication 2023-24 Courses

Course selection information for the 2023-24 school year is now available in Campus Parent. Students and families can access the information within Campus Parent by selecting the “more” button on the left hand column and then selecting “backpack” and “documents” (see below).


Students are asked to review their 2023-24 course requests. If potential changes need to be considered, students are asked to email their school counselor no later than July 31, 2023. Class of 2025 & 2027 (M-Z) should email David Messbauer.

2023 Regional Summer School High School Program

Regional Summer School provides instructional support to students in participating districts in order to better enable them to meet graduation requirements and the New York State standards by extending their study to the summer months.


If you believe your student should be enrolled in the Regional Summer School program, please contact your child's school counselor directly to discuss the registration process.


Please also carefully review the information your households received from BOCES 2 and, if you have questions, refer to the parent handbook or contact the BHS Counseling Office at 585-637-1873.

Transportation


Below is the transportation schedule and busing locations for the upcoming Regional Summer School.


Please note, students will not be picked up from their homes, they need to report to one of the locations on the attached schedule.

New Hall Pass System at BHS for 2023-24!

Over the course of the spring semester at BHS, a small group of staff members piloted an electronic hall pass system called e-HallPass. Based on our trial this spring and feedback provided throughout, I am excited to share that we are moving forward with a building-wide implementation of e-HallPass at Brockport High School for the 2023-24 school year.


Students will have access to the system through their district issued laptop via a link on our ClassLink page.


Thank you to the members of our pilot team for their time and investment in our trial of this tool. This will help us enhance our already safe school environment and increase communication when students are moving throughout the building.

Class of 2027 Lockers at BHS

Lockers will continue to be available to all BHS students in the 2023-24 school year. Lockers will be assigned to the incoming freshman class (Class of 2027) by request only. If you are a member of the incoming freshman class and would like a locker, please contact or stop by the BHS Main Office beginning July 31, 2023, and one will be assigned to you.

Food Delivery Service Reminder

We want to remind all students and parents, food deliveries from food ordering services (Grub Hub, DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc) or from restaurants (Mark's, Perri's, etc.) are not allowed at BHS.
