A MESSAGE FROM MRS. CAUDILL
You might have seen the advertising for Northville Parent Camp coming up next weekend. I highly encourage you to attend! This is a free event and will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Northville High School from 8:30am - 2:00pm. It starts with different sessions to attend and includes a wellness fair. This is a collaborative event by the Northville Educational Foundation and Northville Public Schools.
There are a variety of presentations on tons of topics specifically to help you as a parent. As you know, our kids don't come with an owner's manual. Several years ago I have attended as a parent and got some really fantastic takeaways. Presenters come from all over, some from outside of the district and many are Northville employees, like yours truly. This year will be my second year presenting at Parent Camp. I will be doing two sessions. The first session will be with Dr. Brock (Office of Instruction) on our new Young 5s program, KinderSTANGS. My second session will be with Mr. Reimann (Moraine principal) on how to diffuse power struggles with your kids.
If my sessions don't sound good to you, no worries, there are tons of other sessions to choose from. There are topics around mental health, AI, student responsibility, supporting your student in math and reading, social media dangers, practicing parenting self-care and so much more! Check out all the sessions on the Parent Camp website. Plus, the Wellness Fair is back by popular demand! You can walk around the fair from 10-2pm. More than *50* vendors will be a part of the wellness fair. Parents can explore a range of wellness resources, products, and services from local vendors dedicated to enhancing family well-being. For more details, visit the Northville Parent Camp and Wellness Fair website.
I hope you can make the time in your schedule to come out to our 9th Annual Parent Camp. It truly is time well spent.
Stay Well,
Devon Caudill

AMERMAN NORTH PARKING LOT - SAFETY CONCERN
If you have ever dropped your kiddo off in the morning lately you may have shook your head in dismay as I have regarding how unsafe some people are driving. Families, we need your help to keep our Bobcats safe. Please do not pull in and out of parking spaces without looking. Additionally, please pull into an available parking spot and do not park in undesignated parking spaces. If you would like to pick-up or drop off your child without getting out of your car, please utilize the loop. We appreciate your help and support ensuring our students are safe and feel safe when they are here.
NWEA TESTING WINDOW TO OPEN SOON
Reminder about Vacations
Amerman, along with all Northville elementary schools, frequently monitors data to inform instruction. In addition to the daily formative assessments our teachers use to make in-the-moment decisions, we also administer the NWEA three times a year. It is important that students are in school (and rested!) for these dates. District-wide, we will not be making up NWEA testing that is missed because of vacation unless the data is deemed necessary for MTSS decisions.

LEADER IN ME JANUARY FOCUS - HABIT 4: THINK WIN-WIN
Think Win-Win this month. Everyone Can Win!
What this means: Think about others as well as yourself. Long-term relationships require mutual respect and mutual benefit.
“I make deposits into others’ Emotional Bank Accounts.”
“When conflict arises, I look for third alternatives.”
“I balance courage for getting what I want, with
consideration for what others want.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. Live by the Golden Rule- Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.
