Hello Parents and Students. The beginning of school is moving quickly. It is already September.

I have had the opportunity to visit all classes during the month of August for a Howdy Visit! It was great to see all of the smiling eyes, eager to learn. I will see kinder- 5th grade classes on a regular schedule. Teachers are able to make special request as needed. Some of the topics I will cover include- safety, college, careers, character pillars, feelings, etc. Please take a moment to complete the Parent Assessment below to share your thoughts and suggestions. This will provide me with other topics I may not have on my agenda. Teachers and students in grades 3-5 will also share their thoughts in separate needs assessments.

We are continuing to put SAFETY FIRST! We are wearing our mask, washing and sanitizing our hands and keeping social distance. Learning happens best when we are all here together.

We continue to have a partnership with Community Labs. Madison does weekly testing on campus each Wednesday. Once you have completed the consent form for your child, they will be screened. You only have to register one time. You can receive the results 2 ways, text or email.

We have a success creed and a Bully- Free Pledge. Ask your child to recite them to you. Practice, then recite it together.

Please help me help your child. Take a moment to complete the Parent Needs Assessment.

Is your child very creative? Does he/she like to invent items? Is the child a problem-solver? Does he or she "think outside of the box"? If yes, please consider referring your child to be assessed for Gifted and Talented Education (GATE). The referral period is now open. The deadline is Friday, October 22, 2021. September is a month filled with special observances like Cheese Pizza Day, Coloring Day, Collect Rocks Day, Pancake Day, Talk Like a Pirate Day, Labor Day and the First Day of Fall to name a few. I favor Pancake Day and Cheeseburger Day! September is also Suicide Prevention Month. YOU MATTER AWARENESS WEEK is September 6th - 11th because everyone deserves to feel: Loved, Beautiful, Strong, Worthy, Capable and Enough. We will have Dress Up Days, next week. Students and Staff are encouraged to participate. Wear a shirt, the designated color, with your uniform bottoms to show your support.

Monday- 6th - Labor Day Holiday- Wear GREEN to say you care about mental health and feeling good.

Tuesday- 7th- Wear BLUE to say you feel confident with yourself.

Wednesday- 8th - Wear Red to show you can work through conflict or feeling by talking to someone or asking for help.

Thursday- 9th- Wear Purple to show you are brave no matter how scared or worried you may feel.

Friday- 10th - Wear Yellow to show how happy you are and that your future is bright!
