In today's learning, there are many different ways to teach a child. The traditional chalk board and lecture is gone and the classroom had become a virtual experience that allows students to explore and learn different content in variable ways. The two main difference in using technology in the classroom is asynchronously or synchronously.
Asynchronous Learning
Asynchronous learning can be describe as a teacher using technology as an additional material to help facilitate instruction. Students can access the materials on their own time within a certain time period. Such tools could include and instruction online discussion board, email, and online quiz, Wikis, blogs and other similar sites.
Synchronous Learning
Synchronous Learning allows the teacher and the student to connect with each other online in real time. Whether it be virtual lectures in an online classroom setting or a tutoring session over IM, This approach allows the students to still have contact with the teacher, while learning which could be useful to ensure there are no questions about misconceptions about content that is being given,
