Mountain View Weekly Update

- The deadline to notify the school should you wish for your child to move from virtual to in-seat instruction or vice-versa for the 3rd marking period is Tuesday, January 12 (15 days prior to the start of the marking period). Please contact Mrs. Toth as soon as possible and complete THIS FORM if you have not already done so.

- Attention 8th grade parents: Please carefully review the contents of the email from Mrs. Lanka, sent January 5, regarding Mendham High School registration and scheduling.

- To avoid drops and damages, please remind your child that his/her district-issued Chromebook must be in the protective case at all times. While devices are covered for one accidental repair per year, additional repairs will be at the expense of the parent.

- A reminder to parents to please check your Honeywell profile to ensure contact information is up-to-date. Note that you will not receive email alerts unless your account is set to do so. To update your Honeywell profile, please click here.

Lately, I've been working with many students on turning negative self-talk into positive self-talk. It's so important to tell ourselves things that are positive and encouraging. Positive self-talk helps us build confidence, improve our attitude, work through challenges, take risks, and cope effectively with stress. Most of all, it promotes self-love and motivates us to keep trying. The next time you hear your child saying negative things to or about him/herself, have a conversation with them when they are calm about how they could change their self-talk to something more positive. When we feel stress and model positive self-talk for our children, it helps them learn that they can do it, too. :)
