Semester 2 begins Tuesday, January 3, 2023

Welcome Back!

We hope that you had an enjoyable and restful Winter Break!

Semester 2 begins on Tuesday, January 3rd. School will be on a regular bell schedule and students should report directly to their classes. All students should look in Aeries before school on January 3rd to see if they had changes to their class schedule.

The Centaur staff is excited to welcome back our Centaurs for the new semester.

Dear CCUSD Community,

We hope everyone has a safe, restful and joyful winter break and holiday.

To mitigate the spread of COVID after winter break, we are asking all staff and students to take a COVID test prior to returning to work/school.

Test for COVID on Monday, January 2

If the test is negative come to work or school
If the test is positive, stay home and follow CDC guidelines - See COVID School Flowchart for more details on isolation and quarantine.

Click https://www.covid.gov/tests to order free at home COVID tests. If you are unable to get a test, district resources may be available.

The LA County Department of Public Health recommends layered sensible protections to reduce the spread of all respiratory viruses and its impact on the health care system. The layered protections include the following strategies for mitigating the spread of COVID, the Flu and RSV as well as other respiratory viruses.

Masking

Highly recommended for indoor public spaces
High quality, medical grade, well fitting masks, such as N95, KN95, KF94
Required for

10 days after exposed to COVID
All Healthcare facilities
Some private businesses

District provided, if needed

The CCUSD Maintenance department and outside contractors worked during Winter Break to update some CCHS facilities. These projects have been scheduled for months and were purposely scheduled during the Winter Break to cause the least disruption to our academic time.

Additional facility projects are planned in the near future.

Ceiling tiles

The classroom ceiling tiles in Hallway 1 - the 40s and 50s classrooms - were replaced over break. These classroom spaces are safer and look great after the Winter construction.

New floors

The floors in the gym were replaced and provide a great space for our Centaurs and Centaur teams.

New bleachers installed in gym

The bleachers were replaced in the gym. The new bleachers are safer, easily recess and are a great addition to our gym.
