Announcements & Updates

- Administration continues to receive regular reports of students not utilizing crosswalks and running across the street, particularly near Orchard and Park. Please remind your child to use crosswalks at all times.


- On January 11, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed Assembly Bill No. 5727 into law outlining new guidance and procedures for school districts conducting school security drills when students are present. School districts are required to provide written notification to the parent or guardian of a student enrolled in the district following completion of a school security drill. Notice shall be provided to the parent or guardian by no later than the end of the school day on which the school security drill is conducted. We have shared this update for your information as our school buildings will be following this process for all future security drills. Updates will be sent directly from each school building via email. Please reach out should you have any questions or concerns.


- Important reminders for 8th grade parents:

  • Check your email for an important communication regarding Mendham High School freshman scheduling conferences, sent 1/21. The sign-up window closes today.
  • Baby photos wanted! Please submit your child's photo to be included in the Yearbook by February 25. Photos can be turned in via the Google Form on your child's 8th grade Google Classroom page.
  • The WMMHS Open House, scheduled for January 31, has been cancelled. The high school will be providing video links in place of an in-person program, which will be shared with parents as soon as they are received.


- For students interested in trying out for a Spring sport (LAX, Baseball, Softball):

  • Sports forms must be submitted to the Health Office by Friday, March 4. All PPE's will be reviewed by Mrs. Austenberg and cleared for try-outs by the school physician before the Spring season. Tryouts are scheduled for the week of March 14.

  • Students who do not have the mandated PPE (and HHU if needed) turned in will not be eligible to try out.

  • Dr. Porter will be in to clear all PPEs on March 10.

Try asking your children what they think fair rules for their cell phones should be, and what they think appropriate consequences are for breaking those rules.
