Time to Enjoy Your Mondays?
The Crest Ridge administration has proposed a new school calendar for the upcoming school year. This new calendar consists of a four day school week, where the students have every Monday off. Our administration has two reasons for changing the calendar to this. One reason is because it is more appealing to teachers who may be thinking about working at our school, it is no secret that we can’t pay the amount most other schools can. This calendar gives teachers more days off, and more time to schedule their lessons during the week instead of having to do more work on their time off. Although the students will have every Monday off, the teachers will come in every other Monday and have a professional development day. All the teachers in the school district had the opportunity to vote and ask any questions they had about this new calendar, after their questions were answered they voted. After speaking with Dr. Gray he said this new idea was “overwhelmingly popular” among the teachers.
Now that this has passed among the staff, the administration has to take their idea to the school board. If the school board passes the idea then they have to check with the businesses that pay taxes to the school. If the board and the taxpayers both agree that this calendar is beneficial for our students and staff then starting August 2019 this new calendar will be put into effect.
UPDATE: The Crest Ridge School Board has approved the 4-day week calendar for the upcoming school year.

Chaotic Courtwarming Spirit Week
“Chaotic courtwarming” spirit days were: Mismatch Monday, Terrific Tie Dye Tuesday, Wacky 80s workout Wednesday, Hectic Hair Thursday, and to complete the week Friday was Neon: let it glow.
The theme for the Friday night basketball game and dance was going to go along with the Friday spirit theme… until both were canceled due to snow. But several kids had fun dressing up anyway! Each day of spirit week the number of people who participated from each class is counted up, and at the end of the week the freshman class won sophomores got 2nd juniors got 3rd and seniors got last.
