Fullerton Update

This past week was excitingfor the Fullerton community as we welcomed our in-person learners back to school. It was rewarding to see the excitement on our students faces as they returned and their enthusiasm towards learning. Many thanks to the Fulerton staff for the time and effort they put towards the implementation of the Hybrid/Remote learning model. We look forward to building upon this success.

Please reference the below Hybrid/Remote schedules for the AM and PM sessions for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The Full Remote schedule for Wednesday's is also provided.

At Fullerton we have high expectations, and one of our expectations is students attending school every day. Attendance is mandatory, and parents have a responsibility to ensure their child is attending school regularly. We are still following all attendance procedures and policies. However, we understand that it is necessary to be absent from time to time. We ask that you contact the office to make us aware of the absent.

Students who are Remote Learners will not be considered "present" if they log on but are not on camera and are not participating. Students that are not showing up, logging in, participating and engaging will be marked absent and, in some cases, truant. In extreme cases of absences or truancy, a home visit will occur by Fullerton staff which could include the Addison Police Department. In extreme cases students will be reported to the DuPage County Truancy Program.

ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY, AND PARENTS HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THEIR CHILD ATTEND SCHOOL REGULARLY!

To help us make informed decisions, if your child has:

1. experienced any COVID-like symptoms
2. had close contact to somone who tested positive
3. tested positive for COVID-19

Parents must call the ASD4 COVID-19 HOTLINE at (708) 571-5524

Parents should leave a message that includes your child's first and last name, school, and a phone number where you can be reached. A school district employee will contact you within 24-48 hours. This hotline will remain active until students return to in-person learning.

We would like to remind families regarding our safety protocol for international travel. For students who have traveled outside the country recently, the student must quarantine for 14 days beginning the day after the student arrived back to the United States BEFORE they can attend school in-person. This precaution is to ensure the safety of students and staff and follows the CDC guidance regarding COVID-19.

Every Wednesday the Fullerton Library will have extended drop off/pick up hours for library books that have been placed on hold! Books can be dropped off/picked up Wednesday's until 5:00 pm. Please enter at Door 1 and someone will be there to assist you.

Please review How to Place a Book on Hold to learn about this process. Students may check out two library books at a time and read them for up to two weeks.

7-Day Meal Distribution is every Wednesday at Fullerton, Lake Park, Lincoln and Indian Trail between the hours of 10:30 am and 12:30 pm.

Addison School District 4 and ACPTA is sponsoring the Second Annual Science Night on Thursday, 3-11-21 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm from the comfort of your home. Please register using this link if you are interested in participating. All registered students will be participating in hands on experiments virtually. We will reach out to you soon with more information! Registration is due by Wednesday, January 27.
