Coyote Connection

This week we are highlighting our 2nd grade teachers! Miss Salazar, Mrs. Thorpe, Miss Fitzgerald, Mrs. Gallagher and Miss Woods are the 2nd grade team here at Kolmar! These amazing teachers are always going above and beyond for their students, and for each other! Some of the things these fabulous teachers focus on are double digit addition and subtraction, writing complete sentences and paragraphs, conducting Science experiments, and of course- having fun! Thank you for all you do for our 2nd graders ladies!

Between April 6 and April 22, students in grades 3-5 will take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR). The IAR is a state mandated assessment that includes 2 English Language Arts assessments and 3 Mathematics assessments. Each section of the test takes between 60 and 90 minutes to complete.

Kolmar students are well prepared for the assessment, but please help your child do their very best by:

• ensuring that your child gets adequate sleep

• ensuring that your child eats a healthy breakfast

• assuring your child, that although all tests should be taken seriously, they should not stress but rather try their best
