Friday, March 1st - Wear Blue for W.H.O. World Hearing Day!
Please join Center’s 4th grader, Cash McGlynn, in wearing blue on 3/1/24 to help raise awareness on how to prevent deafness and hearing loss and promote ear and hear care across the world!
March Madness at Center School
The bracket is set and we are getting ready to vote for our first round winners! Each book trailer gives an engaging synopsis and often sparks the interest of our young readers. The library has a tough time keeping up with demand for our March Madness book selections that fly off the shelves throughout the month of March!

Congratulations to our Invention Convention Finalists!
Our creative inventors are putting the finishing touches on their inventions before online entries for the next round of voting. For selected participants, the Invention Convention State Finals will be held on Saturday, June 8th at the UCONN Storrs Campus.
State Spelling Bee Finals
We are just over a week away from cheering on Connecticut's top spellers, one of which is Thomas Kokus! The Bee will be held at the University of Saint Joseph’s Hoffman Auditorium, on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
Kindness Continues to Bloom
Notes of encouragement, inspiring quotes, and messages of kindness were posted to the tree in the main hallway. The heart shaped leaves continued to bloom throughout the week as students and staff shared kindness and compassion.
Parent Informational Meeting on Special Education
As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, we are pleased to invite you to a Parent Informational Meeting on Special Education.

During this meeting, we will cover various aspects of our support services and special education programs, including:
- An overview of student services and the special education services offered at our schools.
- The Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process.
- Common special education disability categories.
- Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- The importance of reevaluations.
- Strategies for supporting your child's educational journey.
- Resources available to parents within the special education community.
This meeting aims to provide valuable insights into how we work together to ensure the success and well-being of every student. Your participation and engagement are crucial as we strive to create a collaborative and supportive partnership between parents and educators.
We look forward to your attendance and encourage you to reach out if you have any preliminary questions or specific topics you would like us to address during this or any future meetings.

Support an 8th Grade Capstone Project
Attendance Matters
If a student has four unexcused absences in one month or 10 unexcused absences in a year they are classified as truant. If a child misses 18 or more days in a school year – excused or unexcused absences – the student is classified as chronically absent.

Outdoor Recess
As temperatures drop, please dress accordingly. We will be outdoors if the 'feels like' temperature is 30 degrees and above. If there is snow on the ground, students with appropriate gear are able to enjoy playing in the snow.

School breakfast is a great way for students to start their school day and its FREE to everyone!
Please review your student(s)’s available balance for any lunch purchases at our secure “e-Funds for Schools” portal: https://payments.efundsforschools.com/v3/districts/56523 Funds should be added on an as needed basis to ensure the account balance covers all purchases.

East Hampton High School Tri-M is delighted to announce the availability of crewnecks and t-shirts for purchase in support of our Tri-M Music Honor Society and Music Department.
