Welcome back from Spring Break!
Graduation information for our Seniors can be found below. Please be sure to review all details to ensure you are ready for the big day. We look forward to celebrating these milestones with you!
Current 8th -11th graders, be sure to submit your course requests for the 2022-2023 school year via the form linked below.
As we head into the final few weeks of the school year, please review the details in these newsletters for assessment dates, prom tickets, yearbook sales, end of year activities, and more.
Our system school, Osceola Science Charter School, is holding their Spring Festival this Saturday, March 26th. If you will be in the area, please feel free to drop by. Their event flyer can be found below with more information. It is going to be a wonderful community event!
I also want to thank you all for continuing to adhere to the Dress Code policy. If you ever have any questions regarding what is permissible, you may refer to the Student Handbook, found in both the student agenda and on the school website, access the Parent Resources page linked in each weekly newsletter, or simply contact administration at your student’s campus.

Assessment Webinar
We wish all students a successful and stress-free experience with their assessments this year!

Please use the high school assessment calendar and plan upcoming vacations and appointments accordingly. Please make every effort to be sure your child attends school on their assigned assessment days. Students should be well fed, rested and ready to demonstrate all of their knowledge from this year. Please do not send students to school if they do not feel well, make up dates are an option in this circumstance. We wish all students a successful and stress-free experience with their assessments this year!

It is time for rising 9th through 12th graders to submit course requests for the 2022-2023 school year. Please carefully review and select courses in order of your preference by visiting the link below. Saturday Studies and Leadership Academy
Orlando Science High School is offering standard targeted Saturday Leadership Academy sessions, in a small group setting, for students in need of additional academic support. In this small group setting, teachers will wear masks and students are expected to be masked (or have a written opt-out note on file) in order to participate. Distancing and frequent hand washing will be enforced as well. Please do not send your child to SLA in they are under a quarantine order, are not feeling well, or have tested positive for covid-19 in the last 10 days.
SLA sessions will focus on the skills and standards that students must master in order to be successful on the following assessments:
·Grade 9 English Language Arts
·Grade 10 English Language Arts
·Algebra 1 End-of-Course Assessment
·Geometry End-of-Course Assessment
·Biology End-of-Course Assessment

OSS spirit wear
**Please note the following:**
- Some Sideline polos and shirts on the site are only being printed with a round OSS logo. Our official school uniform polo, sold by Risse Brothers, is the official school uniform.
- Sideline polos and shirts may only be worn on Fridays as a spirit shirt, during gym class, or on other dress-down days designated by administration. Sideline polos and shirts cannot be worn as a replacement of the Risse Brothers official polo uniform shirts.
- Any sports shorts or pants are to be worn in gym class only.
- Sideline hoodies, jackets, and sweatshirts may only be worn over the official Risse Brothers school uniform polo.
- If students do not act responsibly with the new spirit wear we reserve the right to ask them to discontinue the use of the school spirit wear. No refunds will be provided by OSS.
- All Dress Code requirements apply to Spirit items sold by Sideline. No refunds will be provided by OSS for items that are in violation of the School Dress Code or otherwise.

OSHS Junior Senior Prom 2022
Orlando Science High School would like to cordially invite Juniors and Seniors to Prom 2022: Through The Looking Glass. Prom will be held on
April 16th from 7pm to 11pm at the OSS Lynx Campus
Admission tickets are $50 and includes a food voucher. This year’s meals, desserts, and drinks will be served by a variety of food trucks; therefore, students are highly encourage to bring additional money in order to purchase any extra food or drinks.
Tickets are available for purchase now through school pay.
Further information regarding guests, dress codes and mask mandates will be available soon.

History Fair County Winners
Orlando Science HS is a proud partner with the National History Day organization and all 10th grade students are required to participate in the annual history fair. This year’s history fair theme is Debate and Diplomacy in History: Successes, Failures and Consequences.
OSHS had many projects enter to the county level competition recently and we are excited to share the winning projects moving on the to the state level:
- Daria G. and Jaival N. won 3rd place for their group website on the Women’s Suffrage Movement
- Melika N. and Hana P. won 2nd place for their website titled the "Edge of War"
- Hemangi P. and Chhavi P. won 1st place for their website “Health First” Not a Matter of Luck
- Arielle G. took first place with her Historical Paper titled Debate and Diplomacy in the Supreme Court: Obergefell v Hodges

Senior Corner-Class of 2022 Updates

Orlando Science High School is happy to announce that the Class of 2022 will host our graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. The ceremony will be held on our field at 2600 Technology Drive. We could not be more pleased to invite all graduates and their families to this celebration!
