Dear Sward Families,

As our winter break comes closer, we have exciting "themed" days to look forward to that have been planned by our Sward Student Council:

• This Friday, 12/9, we will have a Blackhawks Day in honor of our very own Mrs. Collura. She has been awarded the honor of being the Blackhawks Teacher of the Month! Please wear red, white, and black clothes OR Blackhawks wear.
• Monday, 12/19 will be "Dress to Impress" Day. This is the day of our Winter Concert and we know everyone will want to look their best for their special performance.
• Tuesday, 12/20 will be "Dress Like Your Favorite Holiday Character" Day. I'm looking forward to seeing your creativity.
• Wednesday, 12/21, being the first day of winter, will be "Winter Fun" Day. There is not necessarily something special to wear this day, but rather something special planned for the students to do.
• Thursday, 12/22 will be Favorite Sweater Day. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the cozy and sometimes silly sweaters.
• Friday, 12/23 will be "Twas the Night Before Winter Break": Pajama Day!

Our Winter Concert performance will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 1:30pm.

The doors will be open at 1:00 pm at the main entrance on Brandt Ave.

If your child is in kindergarten, grade 1, grade 2, or Chorus, they brought home “admission tickets” to the Winter Concert in their folder today.

You do not need one ticket per person! If your family members are all together, all of you can enter with one ticket. If a family member is arriving later, and does not have a ticket, that person will need to enter the school through the main office.

Sward PTA will be hosting a Holiday Shop event on Thursday, December 8 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. Click here for details. Hope to see you there.

Sometimes medication is needed during the school day. Whether it be prescribed or over the counter, please be aware that a doctor's order is needed for any medication to be administered at school. If no order is received the parent or guardian must come and administer the student's medication. All medication is stored in the Health Office and is not to be kept in backpacks for safety reasons. Medication order forms can be found on our district website or can be sent home with the student.

The annual Taco and Trivia Event planning is underway... click HERE for more details. Save the date of Friday, May 5 for this 21 and older event.

When you "catch your child" using real life math outside of school, please send a photo and statement of explanation to ckramer@d123.org . Check out this example of our Eagle adding up his score at the end of his golf tournament. The photos and explanations will be added to a "Math Outside of School" bulletin board for all to see.
