Introducing the "Ballenger Creek Middle School: Pass" System

During the month of November we introduced "the "Ballenger Creek Middle School: Pass" System. This system allows students to sign up to use the Media Center for book checkout, independent work in the Media Center (with teacher permission), and lunch opportunities. The pass system link is in our Schoology Course.

*Availablilty of passes varies daily based on Mrs. Lungociu's schedule and use of the Media Center by other classes.

3D Printing Cookie Cutters with Mrs. Holland's Classes

Mrs. Lungociu and Mrs. Holland have been working with the 8th Grade Life Skills Society classes to create 3D printed cookie cutters in Tinkercad. This cookie cutters will be used in an upcoming baking project in Mrs. Holland's classes.

Book Donation from The Frederick County Literacy Chapter

Ballenger Creek Middle School was fortunate to be selected by the Frederick County Literacy Chapter to receive a donation of books to our Media Center in recognition of International Literacy Day. The books were delivered Wednesday, November 30, 2022 and will be available for checkout soon.

Book Checkout Overview

With the addition of the pass system weekly checkout by grade have been changed. Students can now utilize the passes to come and checkout books when they would like.

Books may be checked out for 3 weeks at a time.

Books can be renewed twice.
Books can be put on hold using our LS2Pac (students must be signed in with their FCPS account).
Books on hold will be delivered to the student's ELA teacher when they come in.
Books can be returned to the Media Center on checkout days or placed in the blue bins in the student's ELA classroom.
