Can You Help at the Last Minute?
The PTO is looking for last minute lunch volunteers when a scheduled volunteer needs to cancel their commitment due to personal or family illness or other last minute conflicts. If you are often available between the hours of 11:00am -1:00 pm and can help out in one of the cafeterias on short notice, please join our Substitute Parent Volunteer List by emailing PTO Registrar Aayshah Mirza at Aayshahm2@gmail.com. It is with the help of our wonderful parent volunteers that we can ensure the lunch program runs smoothly and efficiently.
Are You a Drone Hobbyist?
The PTO is looking for a volunteer who has a drone with a good camera, who would be willing to help us catch some aerial footage of a new idea we have brewing! If this is you, please contact Beth Zender and Kate Byers at pto@ogschool.org.
Last Call for Spiritwear Orders!
Order your spiritwear now or forever hold your peace! Just kidding...there will be another opportunity later this year, but the styles may not be the same, so don’t miss out on your favorites now. September 14th is the last day to place orders for fall spiritwear.
Curriculum Corner
Hello Oak Grove families,
We have completed our fall iReady assessments and you will be receiving information next week in regards to your child’s results for both reading and math. This is only one of the assessments we use to help guide our instruction along with informal assessments in the classroom.
U.S Constitution Day is nationally recognized on Friday, September 17th. This day commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787. Each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year is required to hold an educational program about the U.S. Constitution for its students. On Friday, our teachers will be including activities/lessons to observe this important day in history by providing learning about the constitution and what it means to be a good citizen.
