Austin ISD Campuses Safe

Good morning Clifton community,

We are relieved to share that the suspect involved in multiple shootings across our city yesterday was arrested last night and our campus is safe.

You may notice the presence of emergency response vehicles or media near our campus as officers conclude the investigation.

Our focus is to provide a normal day for our students and offer support as needed.

Please know that we are prepared to support students who may have been affected by these events and will coordinate with home campuses to ensure support across all environments.

We want to address the needs of our students while at the same time not sharing more information than our families wish to share. If a student brings the incident up, we will acknowledge that something happened and that we are keeping the impacted families in our thoughts. Students who want to know more will be encouraged to talk to a trusted adult at home.

Compartimos con alivio que el sospechoso involucrado en varios tiroteos en toda la ciudad ayer fue arrestado anoche y nuestra escuela está segura.

Es posible que noten la presencia de vehículos de respuesta a emergencias o medios de comunicación cerca de nuestro plantel escolar mientras los oficiales concluyen la investigación.

Nuestro enfoque está en darles un día normal a nuestros estudiantes y ofrecer apoyo según sea necesario.

Tengan en cuenta que estamos preparados para apoyar a los estudiantes que puedan haberse visto afectados por estos eventos.

Queremos abordar las necesidades de nuestros estudiantes y al mismo tiempo no compartir más información de la que nuestras familias quieren que compartamos. Si un estudiante menciona el incidente, reconoceremos que algo ocurrió y que tenemos a las familias afectadas en nuestros corazones. A los estudiantes que quieran saber más se les recomendará que hablen con un adulto de confianza en casa.
