Dear GLOBE community,
A reminder that Lower Campus will be closed this Friday, November 4, so that we can make a critical plumbing repair. LC families will receive information from teachers containing their at-home/digital learning instructions for the day. We look forward to seeing LC students back at school on Monday, November 7. Upper Campus will be operating as normal this Friday.
Tuesday, November 8, is Election Day. There is no in-person school, however, it is an independent instructional learning day. Teachers will be sending home assignments to be completed. All students will return to campus in-person on Wednesday, November 9.
I would also like to encourage parents/guardians to subscribe to receive time-sensitive alerts via text messages. If you haven't yet signed up for this, please do so by texting @globers to 81010. For campus specific updates, text @ucgl for Upper Campus, or @lcgl for Lower Campus.
In community,
Christi Elliott-Earby
Executive Director

Thank you to all our donors so far. We have raised over $40K and reached 24% of school participation! We need your help to reach our goal of $140,000. Please keep sharing your child's fundraising page with friends and family.

Congratulations Jerome and Anya!
On Saturday, October 22, two GLOBE band students participated in the Georgia Music Educators Association Solo and Ensemble Performance Evaluation. Jerome Yang and Anya Mai both performed solos and earned superior ratings for their performances. Congratulations, Jerome and Anya!
Peace Week and Socktober a huge success!
Share you child's art with Square 1 Art
We are excited to partner again with Square 1 Art this fall to provide a way to share your child’s art with family and friends. Ordering is open until November 15.
Square 1 Art is a school fundraiser that allows students to create gifts and keepsakes with their own art on it. A portion of the proceeds return to GLOBE for use in the Art department. Each year, students create art in class and send it to Square 1 Art, so it can be available for printing on gifts for family and friends.
How do I view and purchase items with my child's art?
Printed student catalogs are coming, but you can go online to view and purchase items with your child's art on them.
Questions? Email your student's Art Teacher:

Upper Campus - Ms. Kate Allen
Campus notes
Lower Campus:
Check in with what your children are learning in science
Ask your Kindergarten student to tell you about science tools we can use to help us see.
Ask your 1st grade student to sing the Water Cycle Song or tell you about the water cycle.
Ask your 2nd grade student what effect the fall season has on the weather, or the tree they have been observing at school.
Ask your 3rd grade student to tell you what they know about how molecules move in hot versus cold water. 3rd grade students should also be able to explain the difference between conductors and insulators and list six ways that heat can be created.
Upper Campus:
We hope everyone enjoyed dressing up on October 31. We had a great time at Upper Campus and are please to include a few pictures from Monday.

We’re Collecting Used Uniforms - First Friday of the month
Starting this Friday, November 4, at Upper Campus, we will be collecting used uniforms on the first Friday of the month during morning drop off. Please wash the clothes and put them in a bag. PTCC will have volunteers standing by the drop-off line to receive them.
To keep carpool running smoothly, please have bags ready to hand over as soon as you see us. If your children walk to school (and they can carry the bag safely) or if you walk your kids to the door, we will be there to take those bags too.
Note: Since Lower Campus will be closed this Friday, we will not be able to collect used uniforms at LC. We still plan to be at UC.
Spirit Night at DEFY
Our next Spirit Night will be at DEFY (3200 Northlake Pkwy NE, Atlanta, GA, 30345) on November 10, from 5pm to 7pm. 20% of the net proceeds go to GLOBE. You must bring a printed copy of the flyer with you to earn the credit. Let’s go and jump! GO GLOBE!
Lower Campus Book Fair
Mark your calendars! We are excited about the LC Scholastic GLOBE Book Fair which will be held in person November 28 to December 2 in the LC Village Plaza. Health and Safety
It's the start of cold and flu season. At this time of year, our custodial team is conducting more frequent deep cleaning of all high-touch surfaces. We encourage you to remind your students about frequent hand-washing — and to keep them home if they have symptoms.
