Mountain Weekly Update
January 27
Announcements & Updates
- On Monday, January 30, Mendham Borough's beloved Mr. Wayne will be celebrating his 80th birthday. Be sure to send him well wishes as you walk or drive by.
- Sra. Nugent will be on leave starting January 31 as she awaits the birth of her child. During her absence, Mrs. Filippini, one of the district's substitutes, will assume her position. Students will be working with an online platform which provides both synchronous and asynchronous lessons designed and facilitated by a certificated Spanish teacher. Mrs. Nugent's tentative return date is March 20.
- Final reminder for parents of Band, Orchestra, and Mountain View Singers students: If you have not done so, please review the communication from Mrs. Carpenter and Mr. McMurray re: High Note Festival, and complete the interest survey by Sunday. Without a survey response, your child may not have a spot on the trip as the number of students attending will determine how many buses are required and the final cost.
- 8th grade parents: The second payment for the 8th grade trip to Gettysburg/Hershey, in the amount of $159.00, is due today. Please refer to Mrs. Toth's November 7 communication for additional information.
All Spring sports physicals (Baseball, Softball, G/B LAX) and related paperwork are due by Wednesday, March 1 to be cleared by Dr. Porter the week of March 6. Please refer to the Student Athlete Information page for instructions and links to all forms. Tryouts are scheduled to begin the week of March 20. Please note that a sports physical submitted for a fall or winter sport may have expired. If you are unsure, please reach out to Mrs. Austenberg. If the ‘Sign Off Sheets’ have already been turned in for a prior season, there is no need to resubmit these.
- New to Mountain View sports? Please click here to review the Athletic Code of Conduct, pay-to-play fees, and more. Note that students will also attend an interest meeting with their respective coach where specific information regarding practices and other expectations will be shared.
A note from Ms. Walsh
Happy Friday Mountain View! I hope everyone had a great week. Today was an Advisory day, and we worked hard in EEE to get ready to begin collecting items for our CASA care kits. Each grade level has been assigned items to collect and we worked on making flyers to display in the hallways to help remind the Mountain View community to collect their items. The grade level that collects the most items will earn spirit points! The 5th grade will be collecting toothbrushes/toothpaste, the 6th grade will be collecting face wash/moisturizer, the 7th grade will be collecting deodorant, and the 8th grade will be collecting shampoo/conditioner. All items should be TRAVEL-SIZED. We will begin our collection on February 1. Each home base will have a donation box in their classroom to drop off their items. Feel free to ask your child/children to see the flyers they developed! Have a great weekend.
