Welcome Back to Tri-Central MS/HS
2023-2024 School Year
Message from the Principal
July 22, 2023
Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
It is hard to believe that the beginning of the school year is just around the corner. We are excited and ready for another great school year. The first student day will be Friday, August 4, 2023.
If we have not met, my name is Adam Long. I am the Middle and High School Principal. This will be my 20th year in education and my 8th year as Principal at Tri-Central. Prior to my time at TC, I was the Assistant Principal at Carroll Jr./Sr. High School in Flora, IN. I also taught at Madison-Grant Jr.-Sr. High School and Taylor Middle and High School. I have spent most of my life living 15 minutes from Tri-Central on a family farm in Greentown, IN.
I am excited to announce that we have a few new additions to our staff for the coming school year. Mrs. Amanda Wiley is joining our administrative team as Assistant Principal. She is coming to TC with 21 years of experience in public education. Most recently Mrs. Wiley was the academic and behavioral facilitator at Bon Air Middle School in Kokomo. She is a Kokomo native and Taylor High School alumni.
One change you will see this year with the Assistant Principal position is that Mrs. Wiley's office will be in the Main Office of the High School, inside door #2. It is our desire to make the administrative team more effective and accessible to meet student and family needs.
We have a new School Resource Officer (SRO) Sherriff's Deputy Nate Sayers. He is a current Tipton County Sherriff's officer. He will be at the corporation each day working with our elementary and middle high school staff and students.
We also want to welcome our new 6th and 7th grade social studies teacher. Mr. Drew Godby, a Tri-Central alumni and former Tri-Central student teacher, will be filling that role. He comes to TC with 5 years of experience teaching Middle and High School social studies courses at Clinton Central. He is also going to take over as the Academic Bowl Coach.
Lastly, we want to welcome our most recent hire that will fill the 6th grade Science and STEM opening. Mr. Paul "PJ" Reehling recently graduated from IU Kokomo with an Elementary Education degree. He is a Tipton County native and Tipton High School Alumni. Mr. Reehling has worked extensively with the Tipton Boy's and Girl's club, specifically their youth soccer program, and the Heartland Academy STEM program.
Tri-Central Community Schools will be holding an open house on Thursday, August 3rd from 4-6 p.m. This is a great opportunity to bring your student(s) in to put items into their lockers and also to walk around and see their classrooms and meet teachers.
As we start the new school year, I want to thank each of you for your continued support of Tri-Central Community Schools. It is our desire to make each and every student's academic experience the best it can be. That starts with the core values that we promote with our staff and students. You may see the PRIDE acronyms posted around the building. PRIDE stands for Personal Best, Respect, Integrity, Dependability, and Enthusiasm.
If you ever have questions or concerns, please reach out to our staff through e-mail or phone call and we will do our best to respond in a timely manner.
Have a blessed remainder of your summer break. We will see you soon.
Sincerely,
Adam D. Long

Arrival and Dismissal Information
The school day runs from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students may go to the cafeteria to eat breakfast in the morning from 7:40-7:58 a.m. each day unless there is a delay. Students also have the option of a grab and go breakfast during homeroom. On delay days, breakfast is not provided.
Car Riders/Drivers
All MS/HS car riders need to be dropped off in front of the high school main entrance door #2. Elementary students need to be dropped off and picked up in front of the elementary. The front doors will not unlock until 7:30 a.m. Please do not drop off students before that time. Car riders are also picked up at door #2 at the end of the school day. Please park along the sidewalk and wrap around beside the auxiliary gym. Please do not line up in the first lane of the parking lot. This makes for a dangerous situation for student drivers trying to exit the parking lot and individuals coming in to pick up their students.
Student Drivers
Student drivers will need to pick up a parking pass from Officer Nate Sayers before parking in the TC parking lot. All students need to park in the lot West of the school. Driving to school and parking in the lot is a privilege. Wreckless driving and/or multiple disciplinary referrals may result in the loss of this privilege.
Bus Riders
MS/HS bus riders will enter and exit the doors at the Middle School.
Students not participating in academic or athletic activities right after school need to leave the building at the end of the school day.
