Beginning Monday, March 7, students and staff will now have the flexibility of wearing a mask or not, except in the nurse's office where masks will still be required. As always, any individual who wishes to continue to mask, including those who face higher risk from COVID-19, will be supported in that choice. DESE and DPH strongly recommend unvaccinated individuals should continue to wear masks in school settings.

There will be an informational meeting for spring sports via zoom on March 8th at 6:30 pm. Sports being offered are for 7th and 8th grade only. The following sports are Baseball, softball and Track and field. Please click here to join the meeting.

There will be a full PD day this Friday, March 11. Students have no school.

The Nipmuc Warriors club will be hosting Jim Grants annual golf fundraiser. It will be held at Shinning Rock Golf Course. It is a 18 hole course with all the amenities that are needed for us to be successful. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help The Warriors' Club to support the needs of the high school, middle school athletes and Hall of Fame committee .
The foursomes are filling up so if you are interested please contact warriorsclub@mursd.org ASAP.
Everyone can help make this a great success. Can you sponsor a hole, donate a raffle item or auction item, donate money, or just buy a raffle ticket.
You don't have to be a golfer to help but you can help be the backbone of our efforts. Join us in some capacity.

YAM is a nationally celebrated event held each year during the month of March. It is designed to call attention to the importance of quality art education as it celebrates the talents of our youth. This is quite an honor for Miscoe Hill Middle School Students as Mr. Hansen and Mr. Williams are only allowed to submit six pieces of artwork!

Typically held in Boston, due to Covid, this year's exhibit will be virtual and will be posted March 14, 2022 on Massachusetts Art Education Association’s website: massarted.com/youth-art-month and will remain up through April.

Team Amazon 2022 is BACK from our expedition and we had an amazing time! This year our group was made up of 5 eighth graders, 7 ninth graders, 4 parents, and 3 Miscoe chaperones. We were originally supposed to go in April 2021 but had to reschedule due to the pandemic. Our ten-day trip was full of new adventures and excitement, including learning about how chocolate is made, white water rafting, ziplining through the jungle, hiking in the rainforest to view caimans, and SO MUCH MORE!

One of the highlights of the week was visiting a very rural school in the Napo Valley. The children treated us to some songs and dances and we brought them tons of school supplies. Our Spanish Immersion students were extremely helpful in translating and all of the kids had fun playing soccer and other games together out on the field. We also painted their entire school while we were there! You can read more about our journey HERE.

Amazon 2023 is currently open for enrollment to current 6th and 7th graders. ***NEW*** With permission from Miss Holloway, current 8th graders may also register for this trip! I know many families have been nervous about traveling due to covid which is why I am extending this rare opportunity. I believe we are already in a much better place health and safety wise and I expect things should be even better (if not normal!) by next year. If you missed out on this year's trip due to covid you have one last chance to sign up and experience the adventure of a lifetime!

Miss Holloway will host an informational meeting on Wednesday, March 16th at 7 PM via Zoom if you would like to learn more. I will have pictures to share of our most recent adventure, feedback from parents and students that have traveled with us, and all of the information for our next Amazon Adventure!
