The Mountaineer Minute digital district newsletter is shared with Iron Mountain Public School families on Monday mornings.

Mr. Joshua Chevalier has been shadowing teachers and educational assistants at Iron Mountain Public Schools since spring through the SkillBridge program. SkillBridge is a Department of Defense program that gives service members the opportunity to work and learn in civilian career fields to prepare for the civilian workforce. Mr. Chevalier has been an integral part of working with staff and students in our Summer School program at North Elementary School and with the day to day operations at East Elementary School.

Technical Sergeant Chevalier is retiring from a career as a aircraft armament systems craftsman, technical school instructor, and weapons expediter after 20 years of active duty in the United States Air Force. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, hiking, photography, travel, woodworking, and gardening. Thank you for your time and service, Mr. Chevalier!

Hi! My name is Annie McCole and I am student teaching with Mrs. Maycunich in 3rd grade this semester! I graduated from Kingsford High School in 2019, and I will be graduating from Northern Michigan University in December with a bachelor’s in Elementary Education and Integrated Science. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, taking walks with my dog, and shopping! I am super excited for the school year!
