TCE Families,

Today is the big day! We hope you all join us this evening from 5:30-7:00 p.m. for the TCE Color Run. If parents or siblings that do not attend TCE would like to join in the run, you can register at www.tcepto.com. If you don't plan to participate in the run, we'd still love to have you come out and cheer on our TCE Texans. Please see below for additional reminders from our PTO:

• The front-loop parking will be closed for the safety of our runners. You may park in the side parking lot, Coppell library parking, or along Heartz Rd.
• Make sure to have your child wear their Color Run t-shirt.
• Parents that want to participate in the run can register at www.tcepto.com for $20.00.

• Donations will be accepted through the weekend at www.tcepto.com. Please pass along the PTO donation link to family and friends that would be interested in donating.
• Each grade level has two different run rounds they will be able to do. Our DJ will announce when it is time for each grade level to get ready to run. See below for the run times.
• Sponsor tables will be set up for families to visit, along with ice cream and water that can be purchased.

• Kinder: 5:35 Loading Zone, 5:40 Start Line, 5:45 First Run
• 1st: 5:40 Loading Zone, 5:45 Start Line, 5:50 First Run
• 2nd: 5:45 Loading Zone, 5:50 Start Line, 5:55 First Run
• 3rd: 5:50 Loading Zone, 5:55 Start Line, 6:00 First Run
• 4th: 5:55 Loading Zone, 6:00 Start Line, 6:05 First Run
• 5th: 6:00 Loading Zone, 6:05 Start Line, 6:10 First Run

The second round will run the same way:

• Kinder: 6:05 Loading Zone, 6:10 Start Line, 6:15 First Run

We are excited about our first upcoming run day! This is a day where each grade level has a themed run day out on the track during their specials time. We will have several throughout the year. Parents are welcome to attend during their child's designated specials class time on run days. Our regular front office check-in procedures apply to any parents wanting to attend.

Kinder: 1:20-2:10

1st: 12:30-1:20

2nd: 9:15-10:05

3rd: 10:10-11:00

4th: 11:35-12:25

**5th: 2:10-3:00 (this is a modified time from their usual specials time)

We are excited to open our campus again for FRIDAY lunch visitors in this 2nd 9 weeks! We know this is a special treat for families. Thank you for your attention to the process and details below so we can keep safety a priority with visitors coming in and out of our building.

Here are some answers to questions you might have:

What is the process for visiting my child at lunch?

1. Sign-in at the office
Lunch visitors will be required to sign in at the front office and receive a visitor badge that must be worn at all times. We will need to see a photo ID (either your license or passport).

3. Eat lunch with your child
You will be able to eat lunch with your child in the cafeteria. There will be designated tables for lunch visitors. You may only eat with your child. No other learners may be invited to eat with you. You may purchase lunch in the cafeteria or bring a lunch with you.

4. Sign out in the office
Parents will be dismissed from the cafeteria. You will need to go back through the front office to sign out at the end of lunchtime. Parents will not be able to join their child(ren) back in the class or at recess.

Who can visit my child for lunch?

District guidelines limit lunchroom visitors at the elementary level to parents, immediate family members with written permission from a parent, and campus mentors. Immediate family members are defined as the student’s parents/step-parents, siblings, grandparents, or any person residing in the home. A parent can list the person(s) who have permission to have lunch for the entire school year.

If anyone other than the parent(s) listed as guardians in our district eschool system is eating with the child, we will need written documentation of your approval. I have attached a copy of the form below, and we will have copies in the office, as well.

Coppell Education Foundation representative, Sherilyn Fox, updated us at our last PTO meeting about the CEF Foundation. The CEF Foundation will take nominations for students, teachers, and staff from 9/26 - 10/14 for CEF Superstars. Parents can nominate any staff member by visiting https://www.coppellisdef.com/super-star to submit a nomination. Teachers will be able to nominate our learners, and we look forward to awarding some of our TCE Texans this fall.

Library volunteer times are now available through October. Library volunteers will assist with checking in and checking out books, reshelving books, and helping with special projects. Please find a link below to sign-up. All volunteers must have a completed background check from this school year.

Several elementary schools (Wilson, Austin, and Denton Creek) are joining together to host a parent information night. Please see the blurb and graphic below to learn more about it, and sign up using the link.

Most of us understand that individuals can have unique needs and qualities. By learning and experiencing some of these differences, we will better understand how we can foster a sense of belonging and understanding in our community. Please join us as we learn about these unique abilities with hands-on activities and experiences.

TCE PTO is looking for your help in gathering photos for the Town Center Yearbook! We set up an easy process for you to share your images from different campus or classroom events. We would love for all families to contribute their images so we can make sure we have equal representation from all grade levels and classrooms! Please use the following step-by-step directions document or video to create a Lifetouch account and begin uploading your images now. Thank you!

For the last two years, free and reduced meals were provided for all Texas public school children. This year, families must complete an application to qualify for free or reduced-priced meals. For more information, check out the Coppell ISD Child Nutrition website. Complete your School Meal Application here. Allow up to ten days to process your application.
