2nd grade class builds dioramas for science unit
As a part of a science / informational writing unit, some 2nd grade students have been doing research on animals and built some amazing habitat dioramas. The completion of the research work and dioramas ended with 5th grade students coming into the 2nd grade classroom to visit the 2nd grade "class zoo" and eat animal crackers as the 2nd graders showed off their hard work to the older students. Some very impressive dioramas were created by our 2nd grade students.
Paw Parties!
As a part of our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports) framework, all students earn paw points throughout the school day to put towards their class paw point chart. Once the classroom earns 100 paw points, the class earns a paw party where they get to celebrate. Paw parties are one way we recognize our students for being respectful, taking ownership, having a positive attitude, and being responsible (ROAR).

New to Central Elementary: Birthday Book Cart!
Our NEW Birthday Book Cart will be used to give books and other items to students on their birthdays here at Central Elementary. Students will get to select an item from the cart on their birthdays. This is another way we are trying to promote the love for reading in our students while celebrating each student's birthday. Win, win.
The cart is being funded by scholastic funds that came from our book fair in the fall.
PTO Meeting
We will have our next PTO meeting on February 8 at 5:30 in our library at Central Elementary.
