Elementary Again Named Model PLC School
Thank You, Mr. Renwick
Friday was Elementary Principal Matt Renwick's last day before embarking on a new adventure as a Systems Coach at CESA 3 in Fennimore! Nothing but the best to you, Mr. Renwick. Thanks for all you've done for MP! "It has been a pleasure to support you, the students and families of our learning community, over the last seven years. I will miss the day-to-day interaction with you all. Being a Pointer has been a privilege, an identity that I will carry with me with pride. Thankfully, my family and I will remain in Mineral Point," said Renwick.
* The District conducted interviews Thursday and is excited to announce our new principal soon! Stay tuned.
WADA Service Award
Since 2011, the Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association has provided each school district with a service award plaque to be presented annually to an individual, or individuals, who have gone above and beyond in their respective districts. This spring, Athletic Director Vickie Dahl presented this year's awards to Mike McVay and Kristin Staver.
Mike not only took the lead in coordinating the improvements of our baseball field but also volunteered his time and put in countless hours of working to improve it. There have been many improvements over the last three years totaling over $130,000. A new scoreboard, chain link outfield fencing and wind screen, new pitcher’s mound, new backstop netting, concrete pads for bleachers and dugouts are some of the upgrades.
Kristin does a lot of behind the scenes work for the Athletic Department including: organizing the music, Advisor of the Blue Crew and Football Cheerleading, Pointer Media, making sure we have students in charge of the run through, and helping out as the volleyball libero tracker over the years.
The MPHS Athletic Department appreciates your continued efforts in supporting our programs. Thanks and congratulations from #PointerNation!
