February Life Skill
Academic Celebrations and Information
1st Grade- 1st grade students are reading, reading, reading! They are practicing reading fluently with expression and accuracy. They are becoming expert writers and eleven of our students have already mastered their addition facts! WOW! Keep it up 1st grade!
2nd Grade- 2nd grade students are using their reading skills to answer questions and understand what they read. They are working very hard to retell what they've read and to answer comprehension questions. They are becoming experts at counting money and telling time! We have eighteen students who are very close to mastering their subtraction facts! Our 2nd graders are awesome!
3rd Grade- 3rd graders are powering up for IREAD! They are ready for the challenge! Using Mindplay each day for 20 minutes, working on our word study, and reading every day helps us become stronger readers. Students are working to master their multiplication facts by practicing each night for 10 minutes. You make us proud 3rd graders!
4th Grade- Our 4th grade students are showing their commitment to learning by growing each week on their critical skill math assessments, completing their reading each day, and leading by example while at school! They are hard at work writing constructed responses, writing summaries and participating in science experiments. All 4th graders are working to make sure their multiplication and division facts are mastered by the end of this school year! Let's go 4th grade!

Building Stronger Readers with Mindplay for all 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grade Students
We are very excited to share that students have their own learning path created through their Mindplay account. Students should spend 20-30 minutes each day completing their Mindplay activities. These activities are designed to help each student strengthen their reading skills.
Virtual Reading Coach assesses student reading abilities with MindPlay’s Universal Screener and automatically develops a unique, differentiated syllabus of instruction and mastery-based activities for every student, thus improving his/her reading fluency.
Letters will be sent home on 2/3 and 2/4 with more information. Please ask your child to show you their account and activities so that they can share their lessons and growth with you!
