A Message from the Principal...
It's hard to believe that we have been in school three months already! It has been a pleasure for Mrs. Rogala and I to begin to get to know our students and school community. We are extremely impressed with the level of parental involvement as we know that working collaboratively, we can achieve great things! We attended each PTG meeting and school event that has taken place since September and it has given us a great perspective about the school community. Great things are happening here!
Students have been actively engaged in their learning and have had opportunities to expand their learning outside the classroom through field trip experiences and school-wide assemblies. We are grateful for our teachers who have had challenges with the start of the school year due to the fire in August. Classroom 15 should be ready to welcome students at the beginning of the New Year. We are happy to announce that once this occurs then Classroom 11 will become a much needed art room.
We hope you enjoy our school newsletter. We will be highlighting our amazing students and staff throughout the year. Your feedback is always welcome and if there's something you would like to see included, please send me an email.
Wishing you and your family a very happy and safe Thanksgiving break!
Sincerely,
Dr. Torres
Veteran's Day Breakfast
On Friday, November 9th, Thomas Hooker honored parents, grandparents and siblings of our students who serve, or have served, in the military with a special breakfast. Thank you to all our Veteran's for your service!
CAPSS Honoree
Each year a 5th grader is selected as the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendent's (CAPSS) award recipient. This student is selected by the 5th grade teachers on the basis of academic prowess, leadership service to the school community and community service and service to others. We are thrilled to announce this year's winner is Emma Garceau. Congratulations Emma! We are very proud of you!
