Student Aid Index (SAI) Update for Michigan Achievement Scholarship
On Monday, December 18, 2023, Public Act 320 of 2023 was signed by Governor Whitmer and is effective February 13, 2024. The act includes important guidance as it relates to eligibility criteria for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship in Academic Year 2024-25, specifically surrounding the new Student Aid Index (SAI).
One noteworthy addition is the identification of the new SAI threshold, for the Academic Year 2024-25, an SAI of $30,000 or less will be used to determine eligibility. Formal program eligibility updates are forthcoming and MI Student Aid will continue to communicate with our stakeholders as more information becomes available.

KAMA Program
We still have room for dual enrolled students in our next KAMA class at KCC's Fehsenfeld Center which starts January 16, 2024. If you have students who are interested in manufacturing or the skilled trades, this can be an excellent introduction to these careers.
You probably know students who are thinking about careers in manufacturing or skilled trades, but they lack the knowledge, experience, or confidence to decide if this is the right career path for them. The KAMA program is an excellent opportunity for these students to learn what manufacturing is all about and to develop the skills to be successful in industrial trades training programs. The KAMA program includes foundational skills such as math and writing; soft skills such as professionalism and communication; and technical training in manufacturing through hands-on simulations. After completing KAMA, students will be prepared for successful entry-level employment in the manufacturing industry and/or enrollment in an industrial trades program.

Do A Job Winners
Congratulations to last week’s DO A JOB game ball award winners. Tyler Howland had 19 points, played a solid floor game along with a great defensive effort in our loss at Parchment.
Sophomore Kegan Hill had 5 points 2 steals and a nice assist in a 3 minute span to flip the momentum for us in our come from behind victory on Friday over Holland Black River.
Exchange student Hugo Martino had a career high 14 points and showed signs of the dominant offensive play we think he can bring. Hugo also had 3 blocked shots on the defensive end of the floor. Good Work Men - Proud of you !!!
Boys' Basketball Giving Back
Blake Lillibridge and Tyler Howland represent the Boys Basketball team and deliver $500 to Robin Frolich who will deliver the money to a Delton family who could use some extra help. The money is our share of the funds from our Lil Mike Night game at Parchment. Proud of our guys for giving to a good cause and looking outside themselves to help. Thank you to all who participated and gave a donation or bought one of the shirts. Many parents, staff, and spectators contributed and we thank you. Go Panthers!!!
